Too bad that nobody takes care of this once stunning jewel of nature :( Everything is neglected, full of snakes, rotten and muddy. :( The other problem is that no rain has fallen for a long time so not much water streams run through here and much of water is stagnant and full of mosquitos and frogs. There is also an abandonend and rotted restaurant near by. I wish somebody brings another life to this once beautiful jewel of nature. I was here also a few years ago and it was very popular, full of people who were diving and swimming in the nature pools of Kotli. I'm sad to see it abandonend now. :( If you come here be carefull when wondering through the woods downwards to the riverbed. There's a lot of snakes and you can also easily slip on the muddy rock. There's poor phone reception down there so better go with some company there. And wear sneakers on your feet. Not slippers. Beautiful old style watermill site with pools of water and even little waterfall (when the tide is high). When in the area - definitely worth a visit. And on the way, don't forget to pop in to Hum town- the smallest town in the world! Most stunning place to visit, a hike to find & explore but so worth the effort. Once in a lifetime place to visit. Beautifull place, great for hikers. Its an old Istrian relic must visit if you like to explore Istria. Wow place! There is a parking and the rastaurant just next to it. You can relax in the small 'pools'. P.s. the road to there is a great experience and sightseeing route though I wouldn't recommend it for the beginners. Watermill Kotli is a hidden gem surrounded by beautiful, raw nature in the heart of Istria. The old stone watermill and traditional houses sit beside crystal-clear streams and natural rock pools, creating a timeless, peaceful atmosphere. It’s a perfect spot for a quiet walk, a refreshing dip, or simply soaking in the untouched charm of this magical little valley. Lovely set of waterfalls well worth the visit if you are nearby. There is also an abandoned watermill and a restaurant/bar which was full when we were here so I can't comment on that. The sorunding landscape is also very beautiful and great for a stroll. It's probably nice here, but now there's NO water.
