So much better than the other places we visited and much more accessible to our family with multiple very different disabilities Staff pleasant enough. Food and drink good value. So is the bowling, Snooker and Pool. Although the snooker tables are looking a bit old but do the job. Amazing place. Kids loved it. Small, not to busy so felt comfortable, great polite friendly staff. And doesn't break the bank. Will be returning very soon. Bowling itself is all modernised and the addition of electronic darts is amazing. Place even has a snooker hall. Great Family run feel too and vibes A****** Always have a great time at CJs. Always a great time to be had at CJ's whether it's bowling, darts, pool/snooker or just playing in the arcade. Quick, friendly service and reasonably priced. Ooozes of 90s nostalgia back when we used to go southend as kids. Food - 6/10 Basic but good! Pizza, Pannini and Platter all went down a treat Darts - 10/10 everyone loves the mini games, will play often! Bowling - 8/10 New style tablet interface is user friendly, the only downside is the pins are on strings Pool tables - 5/10 The tables have some rips (but repaired) the cues are mullered, and I think people get hungry and eat the chalk as there only ever seems to be one out that's smashed to bits. We go often and bought our own cues and chalk which makes it more enjoyable, it would be nice to get some fresh air in the snooker room as it sometimes smells a bit stale if possible? It's a great little place to have locally with friendly staff and most of all it's affordable, unlike 5* lanes (where we previously went) I have been going to CJ’s for years, it’s our local bowling alley/arcade.
