The food was mediocre considering the price. There not many light options, mostly meals are with meat. The price for every meat tipe is mentioned per 100 g and you are not asked how much you would like, and afterwards you can be really surprised by the final price. The service was horrible because even if we were seen when we arrived, we were ignored long time until we received the menu. We waited a long time until our table was cleaned. Simply the waitresses are not friendly and not willing to serve you or treat you well. I do not understand the negative reviews, I almost didn't go there by checking the reviews but it turns out this place is amazing! The decor is nice and rustic (people saying communist era have no idea what they're talking about and usually have 1-5 reviews (fake accounts?)). The servers were nice, the food was very good! The traditional romanian platter is a must! Really enjoyed our meal here. Service was friendly, and fast. Food was great with reasonable sized portions for the price. Beer was cold and dessert was delicious. A great option especially if staying at hotel Marta. To be honest we just stopped to eat here, without any expectations, but the food was very good and the prices were incredibly cheap compared with other restaurants in the area... we paid 60 lei for 2 portions of zacusca, bread, a portion of fries, a cabbage salad, a portion of cheese, a shot of visinata and 2 beers. This could involve improving the cleanliness of the seating arrangements and investing in more comfortable and well-maintained furniture. Tasty… In rest - Not so well instructed waiters , and they had a ,,romainan waiter” specific on them- ,,I will tell to a colleague that served you to bring you “-when I wanted to order something more. In that way I had to wait for my coffee about 10-15 min!!! Wasn’t full! Even half ocuppated. That’s it. Not bad and far away from good but , anyway,better than MacD ! After this short rest , we went to the monastery ,,Sambata de Sus” . Amazing spiritual place and amazing nature all around ! Bad food! Impolite waiters (especially the old man with a bald scalp..), communist building with zero taste, sad atmosphere. The food is overpriced, poor quality and the portions are really small! I would never eat here again! It was very tasty! We ordered kievsky cutlet, vegetable salad, French fries, three cups of tea and grilled chicken breast. For three people (two adults and a child) we spent 94 RON. A friendly waiter who speaks English well. We were satisfied. Stay away from Deer Restaurant. Rude staff. Maria (about 25 yrs old) is one of the worst waitresses around. Rude and unpleasant, she had us choose a table and then stood us up in an unacceptable manner due to the inconvenience caused by choosing one of her "mese amenajate", whatever that may be.
