The welcome from received was so warm. Cannot recommend the enough. This is a place where you can see many old things explained from a wonderful man. Questions are welcome. lovely tour from are host it's small but you could spend a hour and half or more looking about and hearing about the things inside I learnt a lot about Irish from a local person, you wouldn't learn any of this elsewhere. So much effort has gone into every detail of all the historic pieces. Well preserved and really good all round experience. The host is such a story teller! Brilliant, well worth it 👌 👍 would go again 😀 so much to see. What an amazing place - so many cool and interesting pieces! We spent two and a half hours with Eugene as he shared his incredible knowledge of the with us. He's a very funny guy and had us laughing the whole time. Great value for money. The place was spotlessly clean. The cars/truck in particular were mint. A way to spend a few hours - you will not regret paying a visit. Where else would you get to see 4,000 egg cups? Well worth the trip, we went here with all the family, the kids had a time, it was like a walk back through history. Amazing little place and the tour was brilliant. Thanks for having us. Would highly recommend for anyone from all ages. My husband and I found this place in a brochure and decided to see what it was like. It is so unique in that it’s a time capsule of Irish history. One room is dedicates to over 4000 egg cups from all over the world! Beautifully displayed in glass cases. They have beautiful restored cars, trucks, fire trucks, farm machinery…just to name a few. Our amazing guide, Eugene, taught us so much about items in this extensive collection. Many of these treasures were items we never even knew existed! Glenview Folk Museum is set up to display different places such as a butcher shop, a telegraph operator, a shoe maker, a general store, war remnants…too much to mention but well worth the visit!! Their motto is “Preserving the past for the future” and it excels at doing that! You will not be disappointed! I wasn't sure what to expect but I need not of worried. This place is really good and the gentleman who show us around is a real asset to the place. He showed us everything and gave such detailed information about things. He explained that the owner would be able to give more details but to be honest his knowledge was fantastic. Our son who is 5yrs old loved it. He was asking so many questions & each was answered. This place is for the young & the old. We were a family of 4 & this place is well worth a visit. We already have 2 extra people to with us again in the near future. A real hidden Leitrim gem. What a wonderful experience to meet Brian and his museum full of everything you could imagine throughout Irish history. I was never much of a history/museum person, but Brian's knowledge and genuine interest in his patrons made it such a special experience, and a detour I won't ever regret taking.
