Lough Key Caravan & Camping Park

Boyle, Ireland RV park

Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Lovely campsite. Clean, well kept. There is a central building with shared kitchen, laundry, toilets, showers etc. The hand dryers are SO LOUD! There is a playground behind the main building. I think it is for up to age 8. There is a green area where lots of kids were playing football. Ground for tents is full of tough little branches, twigs and half buried tent pegs. Ground is not completely level so important to arrive early to get a good spot. Nice wooden benches and picnic tables. We have been to Lough Key now a few times with a tourer and each time it's been great. Facilities in good order, clean toilets & showers. Staff helpful and friendly. Loads of space for kids and perfect for dog walking. The one thing I would like to see in Irish campsites is fully serviced pitches. The pitches have gully for grey and ehu but the taps are shared and some aren't in the best of locations. It should be run alongside the ehu really. We will be back. Really cool, family friendly place to stay with the camper van. So many things to do, lots of space, great amenities. It's a firm favourite. The campsite is fantastic and the facilities are spotlessly clean. Every member of the campsite staff goes above and beyond to help out. A brilliant campsite. Visited with 3 kids in our camper. Pitch 2 was a long, flat wide site, definitely suitable for an awning. Grey disposal & EHU at the pitch. Staff incredibly friendly & helpful. Games room with lots of amenities,(including WiFi & charging stations) if the weather isn't great. Campers kitchen with microwave, kettle, toaster & complimentary tea and coffee. Laundry onsite with washing machine & dryer (€2) Fridge & freezer available to use. Toilets are plentiful & immaculate, with baby changing table and potty seats available. Hairdryers & straighteners available for 50c Site felt very safe as there was an overnight security patrol. Lots of flat surfaces for bike/scooter riding for kids,a small playground too with swing & slide. A short safe walk to the Visitor Centre, with discount access to the amenities for campers & a café with lots of choice. Highly recommend & will definitely be returning later in the year. Very nice camping spot under the trees. Camper facilities all very good. Would go again. Great place, took us about 3 hours and we skipped the first few courses so even tho it's expensive you will spend hours here if you want to. Great facility. The staff prepare you and then let you go at your own pace, leaving our family to have fun and interact together but they were on hand quickly when we needed help with clips and rope.
