Lovely walks through the meadow following the clear chalk and then up the hillside. Attractive open parkland with some impressive trees and a chalk stream, forming part of the larger Hughenden Estate. The is freely accessible to all and situated right on the edge of High Wycombe. Plenty of open space and well maintained paths make the area ideal for dog walks or simply enjoying some time amongst nature without heading far out of town. The house and formal gardens are a separate charged attraction managed by the National Trust, well worth a if you have the time. The church by the vehicle entrance is also worth a look, with a particularly well decorated interior and the tomb of the Disraeli family outside. Have visited on numerous occasions with family and each time has been brilliant. A great trail, the building itself is stunning, a lot of car spaces a fantastic view of the greenery when you're within the trees, and there are a few cows and sheep that roam around. Lovely play area for children. A very pretty natural park, that is to all the time. You only have to pay to Hughenden Manor house and gardens, not this public for which parking is also free. The long chalk is a photogenic highlight. No toilets, although there is at the pay to enter manor house. Benches dotted about - there's some in the Hughenden churchyard too if you are the manor end. No surfaced paths run across the and some of the grass is quite long with boggy bits near the after wet weather so not the easiest for those with walking aids. There's a cafe at the manor if you are visiting that, and a cafe-diner overlooking the called Magnolia cafe which has it's own parking but the latter isn't open late afternoons or Sundays/Mondays. Otherwise there's often a ice cream van parked by the children's playground. Popular with dog walkers but bear in mind there's ranging cattle in the park. These leave the inevitable cow pats behind which children always seem to find ... If you want to get public transport here, the 300 bus from the High Wycombe bus station towards Aylesbury has a stop right outside the drive leading up to the church/Manor, from which you can also access the park. Otherwise you can walk from central Wycombe in about 20-25 mins but Hughenden Rd is a pavement parking hotspot near the town end so be cautious.
