Steep stoney slopes, created by the peculiar erosion pattern of the Taunus Quarzit formation, make this area so unique. The tree and shrubs had to adjust to harsh conditions and thus the vegetation is different. Several hiking paths are available. This place had breath taking views, although you do have to pay 10€ to get access to the tower, which we were not expecting it was still a nice experience. You get an over view of the saarland river. At times you notice some slight movement of the structure but it feels stable One of the best places in the world! Great place with multitudes of hiking trails, a playground and amazing views of the Saar river. Admission to the treetop walk was €21 for a family ticket and it did not disappoint. The trail is a little over 1.2 km to the top and then it exits out by a biergarten with playground for the kids. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a family day trip!
