Everything was slow, the waiter was unfriendly, to say the least. The food was like a poker game, some hands are cold, some are hot. I didn't believe you can mess up french fries. But they did it. The cherry was with the check. We waited 20 minutes to pay and in the end after repeated requests we were told to go at the reception to pay. Someone here wrote that they don't want clients, only friends and relatives. I think this sums it up. Good place to start exploring the forest trails that lead to the Moldoveanu peak. The location is wonderful, a little bit to work on the restaurant area as most of the items in the menu are not available. Also the prices are quite steep... The guesthouse is in a wild place (let's say), and generally tourists come who want to do routes on the nearby mountains (the most famous route Stana lui Burnei - Moldoveanu). There are a few km of forest road to the location, but the location is good, the rooms are spacious and warm in winter, and all are clean.There are sufficient parking spaces. We didn't get to try the kitchen because we had to announce it in advance if we wanted something... that would be the minus. Otherwise, I recommend the location. Very nice accommodation, ideal to spend the night. I have no complaints about the facilities. Two things I believe they can be improved: I find it a bit weird to have signs all around that you cannot eat food and consume drinks brought from the outside. I would understand this if the service would be non-stop and you have the option of buying food and drinks at any time of the day and night. But if I feel like eating something or drinking something at 5AM in the morning, I shouldn't feel weird about it. The other thing is that it would be nice to have a fridge available for the guests to store their stuff. Again, it is because the service is not available 24/7. Great place to start exploring the Fagaras mountains. It is a 1.5hr drive to the base of the Moldoveanu peak. Food is good and served on the covered terrace. Rooms have all you need: good bed, warm shower and they are clean and big enough for your luggage. Friendly service as well! Very bad service.
