Pint was nice - but they weren’t the best poured ones I’ve ever been given Lovely atmosphere in the pub Good value We didn’t have the food - so no comment on that Great little roadside pub with a couple of tables outside for a sunny day. We didn't try the food but had a good pint and coffee. Would love to make this our regular on the way to Kilkenny. This place is a hidden gem, the pub of my dreams. Yvonne is fantastic! Small menu to choose from and EVERYTHING was delicious. The bar matton was so friendly, funny and accommodating Lovely staff, clean with character to it. Cheap food but good quality. Came here for some lunch, got fish and chips, fish was gorgeous very nicely cooked, the batter was very light as opposed to having more batter than fish. Really recommend very reasonable pricing, staff are friendly. The desert is beautiful, I got homemade apple crumble. Great breakfast I don’t generally leave negative reviews unless I’m very pissed off. Paddy’s country pub , Could stick to the pub side and forget about the food. A prison meal is what comes to mind. The lady serving couldn’t have been anymore unpleasant it was like she didn’t want us there . (I had eaten a few chips and one bit of cod when I took the photo) Went in today after visiting last year to use the bathroom and being told by one of the women behind the bar that the food was beautiful, inexpensive and more than generous on your plate. What I was given was less than plentiful or worth the visit. I ordered the soup of the day (vegetable) and brown bread. I was given two thin slices of bread from a pan, not the rich soda bread usually complimenting a soup in any bar/restaurant/cafe. The soup was very salty, inexpensive yes but it shows in the taste. It was very clearly just heated up and not homemade. My Dad ordered the bacon & cabbage and was given a microwaved meal consisting of three thinly sliced (overly salty) bits of bacon, watery mashed potatoes and about a finger length amount of cabbage. Would not ever recommend visiting here despite the exterior appearing very woodsy and appealing. Staff were nice but I was obviously lied to last year- we were the only ones seated, seems locals know not to eat here. Pity. Sadly the only saving grace to Paddy's was the lady who served us. We were the only customers and I think that is generally the case during the day. I'm sure this was a fine place for food and drink in it's day but sadly no longer the case. Nice spot for quiet drink but not for food. We had dinner in Paddy's Pub on Thursday evening 3 adults & 2 kids under 8 the food was wholesome pub grub at a great price Paddy's is a lovely homely pub so welcoming. The lady who looked after us was so efficient & friendly and looked after our little ones like they were royalty they had their own table beside us . I would highly recommend Paddy's Pub and will definitely be returning Great spot for a pint also they do an amazing no frills lunch that is super tasty, fresh and fast. Certainly worth the stop.
