Was disappointed that one of their craft beers was out. Also, needed to turn down the lights in the dining area. But overall, a tasty meal. This was a pretty good meal. Steaks were done exactly the way we asked. I will point out that the steaks have a lot of “or” in the description so read carefully. Over all the experience was very good. Also one suggestion, if you like garlic mash potatoes, they come with a minor hint of garlic and butter but we found that you can self improve them by using the butter and garlic provided with the steaks and they are exceptional if you add in enough to your taste. I'm so appreciative that the staff were very knowledgeable about vegan options and even pointed out where the vegan/vegetarian (dedicated!) menu hadn't been updated yet. Neither of us had a starter - we had a fillet of steak with chips and pepper sauce and pork belly with vegetables as main. My steak was tender,juicy and full of flavour. The pepper sauce was the best I've ever had, so tasty! The pork belly was very tasty with good crackling and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. I had tiramisu for dessert and it was lovely though very chocolately, which suited me! The staff were very attentive and friendly and was excellent. Had dinner here whilst staying at the Manor House. Really nice place - lovely atmosphere (we sat in the conservatory under the heaters), excellent and the taste of the food was outstanding. Had a really memorable cod dish and my other half had the chicken but even the side dishes (broccoli with yoghourt and nduja oil and nuts or the baby roasties with a basil coating) tasted amazing. Good wine selection and afterwards you can unwind in the bar next door! Food was average and definitely not worth the price. Staff were lovely though, working their butts off in a very demanding environment. Definitely recommend the trip into Thomastown or Kilkenny City for a much better experience in places like Tābú or Ember.
