If you put some effort in you can do it. The crowds also compound the parking problem, so be ready to pay. There is not much else to do, and even on the National Holiday there was supposed to be a band on the main square, but they never showed up! Further, the tourist office was not so helpful and could not offer any advice outside Crikvenica (which, by the way, we have seen as a trend in Europe). With the heavy amount of smoking going on at restaurants we preferred to eat at the apartment. Crikvenica is a decent tourist city for stop by when you travel along the coast of Adriatic Sea towards south. It doesn't offer very much in sense of beautifull nature or nice beaches. Sea is usually very cold cause of cold winds and underground water springs which comes from mount Velebit. There are lots of restaurants but nothing fancy at all. They offer just fast food. If you have sports car you should avoid Crikvenica cause lots of hughe speed bumpers and wavy streets. If you look for a parking you'll have to pay cause whole city is one big parking zone. The only place where you can hide your self from the sun is a coffe bar or a restaurant. Not impressed at all. Ok Prekrasan grad i infrastruktura... Somebody took a dump in the changing closet on the beach. A call to tourist board resulted in a "it is weekend, we don't know" bla bla bla type response, instead of dispatching cleaning crew.
