The staff greeted us with such friendliness, their warmth matched the sun on our skin as we waited for the food. The food was hearty and delicious, served warm and comforting, just as it should be. A cold beer in hand, good company, and a stunning view of the lake made the whole experience unforgettable. A charming place to rest, refuel, and take it all in. Our stay at the Auberge Salanfe was great. First and most importantly, they accept dogs in the private rooms which is not the case at many other mountain huts where they either don't take dogs at all or they make them sleep outside in the cold air. That being said, if you book a private room, they will even go the extra mile to provide blankets and food/water bowls for your furry friend. That alone is 5 star worthy. They have a nice cafe in the Auberge that during the day offers the possibility to order some dishes, yet at night, dinner will be the same dish for everyone. Surprisingly, food was good and also if you are a vegetarian or a pescetarian they will accomodate as I noticed in other tables. That's also great!. The dinner usually is soup, main dish and dessert all included in the price of your room. Overall, very nice price/quality/location and so happy they take dogs. The staff taking care of the Auberge was also super friendly and familiar. I love Salanfe Lake and often stop for apricot cake at the refuge, it is delicious. Dinner however was a bit disappointing. In comparison to other huts it lacked a lot of variety and inspiration (in fact, it consisted of pasta, potatoes and a piece of soy steak (vegetarian option) with a flap of tomato sauce over it). The dormitories are tight but I was lucky to have had free space on both left and right of me. The sanitary rooms however are brand new and clean. The staff is really friendly. The food is good and the picnic packages are generous. The private bedrooms are really cozy (careful the walls are really thin). Hot showers and plenty of bathrooms. I don't mind the lack of internet access from the inside of the building, if you really need it you can have some 4g signal from a building 30m away. We had an amazing night at Auberge de Salanfe. Everyone was very sweet and the rooms were perfect. We highly recommend !
