Great hike, and majestic view, make sure you come on a clear day, access is not as easy, have to make sure to pay a parking fee, so just read the instructions before you come, but nothing better as enjoying a beer and apertivi after a long with a stunning We stopped there on a hike, had two pieces of cake, which were tasty. The coffee was unfortunately served cold, and the waiting time was quite long. We went there at tue end of February 2023, on a very nice and warm day. After an hour or so, we got to this amazing place. Views are incredible! And they make really good polenta, too. Will go back!! Great place with friendly atmosphere. Amazing of the lake Lago di Como. Simple rooms with bunk beds, clean. Shared bathroom with hot warer. Wery friendly and willing lady who cooked for us great seasoned dinner (thanks God no more polenta 😀). Great hike, I took the train from Milan to Varenna (1 hour 10 min), from there, I took the ferry to Menaggio (15 min) and, from Menaggio, I took C13 bus to Breglia (30 min), with waiting times, took me almost 3 hours to get to the starting point of the hike, in Breglia, from the church/little parking lot, you go up for about 100m before the trail starts. I am a novice hiker, so it took me a little over 2 hours to reach the hut, but it can be done in under 2 hours easily, if you have more experience. From the hut, there is a vista point, about 15 minutes away, highly recommend that as well. The is incredible, the food is also great and relatively affordable. Awesome view, with a large grassy area to enjoy it. The restaurant serves unbelievably good rustic polenta. I had mine with braised beef, it was absolutely delicious! The service was very friendly. Seriously, this place is worth the as much as the view! Angry boss, who seemed to be authoritarian and very uncivil. Additionally he screamed at us. We were his clients and left money to be treated in such awful way. I don’t recommend this place.
