Piana di San Tomaso is pretty easily accessible from Valmedrera town, less than 1 hour hiking. Beutiful place with a great panorama view. There is more hiking trails leading to this place, some of them are easy, some are much more challenging. Very easy hiking, recommended for fun short hiking trip, there are a large field where you can do free picnic. We did it within 1 hour of hiking, and the was beautiful to see! Really nice area! worth visiting! it would take you around 1 hour from the train station to reach there. Dog-friendly hike with stunning views of Lecco lake. There's a standard hike and a medieval hike for those who like a challenge, both lead to an open grass field at the top! Bring a blanket, some card games, and food for the perfect picnic! The hike up is totally worth it. The views were stunning! Just stick to the cobblestone path and you’ll get there - the instructions along the way are all in Italian and were not very clear to us.
