We attended the open day today and enjoyed our stay seeing the and contributing with the raffles and Tombola. The rabbits garden and horses penn was especially cute with a large tortoise wandering around the garden. The parking was non existent and everyone had to park on the verges of a busy road with no actual footpath so was a bit risky... I personally didn't like some of the stalls which had unnecessary signage with crude foul language partially displayed . It made me feel apprehensive about the aggressive nature of some people ... On the whole it was a nice treat to see the good in looking after the and an opportunity to support them. We visited the local vegan cafe the scones was my friends also had the vegan sausage and cheese toastie which they said was really tasty. We got to see all the and the the charity puts in, the were really helpful and knowledgeable about all of the would definitely recommend them to others. Nice day out at thier 1st open day. Super happy to support their great caring for the I’ve had an opportunity to volunteer at in need recently. It’s an place with dedicated and hard working staff. Highly recommended!!I I rescued a baby pigeon who was trying to fly but sadly got hit by a car on purpose in front of my house. I didn't waste a minute, I put it in a box and took it to this place where the volunteers will take care of it. I hope one day to see him again because for me this little one was sent to me by my special cat who passed away the next day. I named this baby pigeon Friday. We have to save nature because we are living in a place, we have to protect it and love it because it gives us everything without asking for anything in return, it just asks us for a little love. Absolutely animal rescue home, the are incredibly kind, friendly and professional. They care for a lot of ranging from farm like pigs, donkeys, chickens etc, to rabbits, dogs, cats. They also have a wildlife area where hedgehogs, a variety of birds, ducks, birds of prey are cared for. Behind the running of in Need, are a fantastic amount of volunteers who give up their time for such a fantastic place. I volunteer myself and I would encourage anyone who has some spare time to help this organisation, it’s incredibly rewarding and much appreciated. place. Run by GENUINE animal lovers. They don't serve "deceased" in the cafe, that's the proof. All the are beautiful, there's a giant tortoise called Sherman ( obviously) who you can sponsor/adopt.. Beautiful cats that live on site as well as for adoption. Lovely desperately needing loving homes with good people. Rabbits, birds and loads of wildlife! My beloved boy, Samson, very sadly passed away recently and has left me totally devastated. I was having him cremated and collecting his ashes, along with his bed and from the vets, who had made notes that I would collect his bed and when his ashes are ready to be collected. I went along to collect Samson's ashes but it became apparent that they could not find his bed and blanket. These were his favourite and to discover they'd lost them was like rubbing salt in the wound. After waiting some more time, the receptionist returned again and said that they think they were put with the items for charity! I could not believe this was happening, how could they do this? I immediately contacted in Need (as I was told this was the charity), they responded straight away and were so lovely, they completely sympathised and also couldn't believe the vets had done this. They immediately arranged for the to search for my boy's things but they have so much stuff I was so worried they were gone forever. Within a short space of time they got back in touch to tell me they had found Samson's bed but were still searching for his blanket, however, the very next day they had also found his blanket. I am blown away by the kindness and caring at in Need, they have gone above and beyond to find my boy's special bed and blanket, I can't thank them enough, they are all truly wonderful. Having Samson's bed and back brings me some comfort in my heartbreak. Thank you so, so much in Need, you're truly xxx We can't praise all the people at the in Need centre enough. They all so hard and are so welcoming even when you turn up unannounced to walk the boys you are adopting! Thank you so much to Kate and Annie for all your help, the visit, and letting us adopt Bruce and Bruno who are the most adorable boys in the world, and are being given all the love and cuddles they deserve. What a great charity, that does for all the in their care. We've just brought our two gorgeous rescue from in Need Northamptonshire, and the adoption experience was just perfect! We did several visits for walks in the run up and everyone we met and interacted with were so and genuine animal lovers. They answered all our questions as well as providing practical advice. They're also right by a country park for walks. Lots of ready for their forever homes. What a charity. The team here are absolutely brilliant, they are with their and you can see that every animal adores each person there. We adopted our family dog Teddy (nee Loki) last week and the professionalism, communication and advise was second to none. Teddy was sad to leave his handler Kate and sharing her strawberries with her so we have made sure we carry on this little treat/ritual with him. My husband and I adopted our two beloved boys from them not long after our previous beloved dog died very young and very suddenly from pancreatic cancer. We were grieving and heartbroken and knew we needed another dog to pour our love into. Originally, we emailed to ask about a different set of than we adopted, and found out those two had actually been adopted the morning we came by the shelter. So instead we spoke to the team at the front desk who suggested we fill out the application and go through the website, listing any we were interested in on the application. We did this over a vegan full English and peanut butter cookies at the cafe (highly recommend). And afterward a kennel manager spoke with us for twenty minutes about our home, our temperament, what we do for - generally what would make us and a new furry member of our family happy. He actually paired us up with two we hadn’t even thought to express interest in - a brother pair of frenchies who were so ready to cover us with kisses that we both started to tear up a bit. The shelter policy is to have three visits with the pets you want to adopt so they get to know you, which felt like a luxury for our grieving hearts to take these two cuties to the park nearby and play with them for an hour a few times before we took them home. This is so they can get comfortable with you and the transition to your will be less of a shock. They will also send someone by to do a check to make sure the pets you’ve selected will match well with your home, if not they hard to match you with a pet better suited to your environment. Annie did our house check and was absolutely lovely. She was empathetic and thoughtful and excited for our boys to join us in our home. We love our Rocco and Rico and feel so lucky In Need brought them into our family. I’ve seen other reviews complain about the thoroughness of the process, but it’s because their priority is the animal’s best interest. We actually turned up without an appointment and found that by being patient, politely willing to with their schedule, and understanding of their priorities they were more than happy to be flexible with us and help us that day.
