Here’s your 5-star review in English: A Truly Unique and Versatile Venue I have stayed at Kasteel de Berckt three times now—once for a large event with 500 people and also in a more intimate setting. No matter the size of the gathering, this provides the perfect accommodation for any event. The rooms are simply furnished but clean, and the beds are very comfortable. The entire atmosphere of the and its surroundings is absolutely magical. A special highlight is the sanitary facilities for campers—they are truly top-notch! The location, with a small lake nestled in nature, is perfect for walking, outdoor activities, and simply unwinding. I can’t recommend this place enough! Well, this place is awesome. I love the concept, the care put into every detail, the gardens. It's a bit rustic, but that is clearly part of the charm. Hot tubs and beach are icing on the cake. It is a beautiful venue with lovely owner and food and service. I I eat gluten free and even at a party they had pea soup! You can't describe it the natural beauty of the place blended with the castle, you must visit! Good and bad points - Good; - Nice location, surrounded by greenery and trees - Cool decor, feels very medieval and 'european' - Staff seem friendly - Breakfast wasn't too bad - Beds (in our private 2 person room) are comfortable - Private shower/toilet bad; - The hordes of young party people making SO much noise until at least 4.30am (I put in earplugs and headphones over, could still hear their yelling in the corridors and general noise outside) - What staff? I saw two at breakfast for a split second, they smiled and said good morning, and that was in. I've been here 2 nights/3 days and that's all we've seen - One small towel each, no idea of who to ask for more - Bed is comfy but had several hairs that weren't my own - No soap at the sink - Said unruly kids smashed a bunch of glass around our window and the walkways and no-ones picked it up. I kicked what I could to the side. - Breakfast was tasty, fresh etc but no signs to tell you what anything is. I wouldn't stay here again, nor would I recommend it. It has so much potential as a stunning venue, but the lack of staff anywhere, lack of facilities and general feeling of the place being lawless just feels horrible. Amazing atmosphere, nature and architecture. Pheasants walking around, amazing big rhododendrons, water, grass, golf place, fireplace. I felt like I went back to Medieval times and time slowed. Excellent venue for rest and events. Outside and indoors. Great location in the countryside with a huge amount of space for group activities. Once you go inside, the rooms are poor quality, small and the bathrooms are so tiny that the shower and the toliet are basically together. The staff is kind and helpful. Went here for my VLAG PhD week. Wonderful place and great time spent there. The is stunning and there is quite some wildlife found around, including a peacock (or maybe a few, I'm not sure). Staff is very nice and helpful ;) Food is great too. Not much else to say - definitely recommend! Our stay here was very confusing, the common rooms are shared with other groups so we never knew which rooms we actually booked. The rooms are extremely moldy and dusty, after a week of staying here everybody was having a sore throat and trouble with a bad cough. The outside looks awesome, for an event without a sleepover this should be fine. I however do not recommend to sleep here under any circumstances. We had our wedding there, and it was perfect! The staff were incredible. No request was too big or too small—anything was possible. It's not a typical setup; the vibe is laid-back, and you feel at home, except that home is a beautiful castle. We and our guests loved every minute of it, and we’re all already looking for a reason to come back together soon. Highly recommend!
