Missiemuseum Steyl

Venlo, Netherlands Museum

One of the Best Places To Visits in Steyl Frequently mentioned in reviews: Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. This is so strange in its origin, set-up and display that I can understand lower ratings as well. Why 5 stars? If you not only want to visit a museum, but fully experience a step back 100 years in time and amaze and even irritate yourself about worldviews then, this is a very unique experience and worth the trip to lovely Steyl village. Almost nothing has changed in the in 100 years and exactly that makes it so impressive. Only recently they have a side exhibition where the first steps of a critical review of the museum’s history and is started. But it is exactly the original displays, abundantly full, with only place of origin and object’s name and use that allow you to wonder about the context and history how this all was acquired, apparently without remorse or shame. Small museum, packed full with wonders. From butterflies and stuffed animals, to clothes and instruments pillaged from the Far East, there is so much to see you'll soon be overwhelmed. Take your time to soak it all up. Then cross the street into the botanical gardens. Fascinating, unforgettable missions museum. The houses a unique of artwork and exhibits from around the world. A mini of natural history, butterflies exhibition as well as a video room. Highly recommended for those interested in missions, missionaries and the SVD (Society of the Divine Word). So weird! Amazing stuff, very influential mission. Mooi museum, buiten een rustige omgeving met terrasjes. Een aanrader. I did not expect this collection. Awesome! The staff is very friendly as in all museums in the Netherlands. Worth a visit. Nice place to visit when you are in the neighborhood. They have a very large of butterfly's, moths and other insects. in a different area they have a massive of taxidermy animals. And don't forget to put a coin in the bear at the entrance, it straight up nightmare material. All in all a with lots of interesting things to see and relatively cheap. Mooi oud met een wereldse collectie. Zeker gezien het feit dat dit al heel lang in deze staat is. Small with a good of cultural artefacts and especially a lot of butterfly/ insects and taxidermy animals. The taxidermy are a bit crammed into a small space which makes it difficult to see some animals. But the insect is really beautiful to see! A bit on the tiny side but excellent for those interested in finding out more about the history of the missionaries Zo overweldigend interessant we keken onze ogen uit Het missiemuseum is zelf een museum. In 1931 geopend en nooit meer aangepast. Toentertijd (er was nog geen tv) was het DE manier om mensen te doceren over andere culturen. Het is zeker de moeite waard om te bezoeken. Surprisingly entertaining with big of stuffed and insects. Artificats from different cultures. Fun little museum, definitely recommended Beautiful and understandable. Totally wild little museum. Never seen a larger of dead and ethic contraband. Definitely worth a visit and beautiful little town with nice botanical garden across the street. Brilliant little - amazing animal and cultural section with artifacts from mainly Asia . Our three kids had a super visit Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
