What a beautiful and heartful place with a garden on the river Maas. Inside is the meeting point for locals having their Biertje smiling staff and good food. The whole town emits this positive halo in perfect harmony. I had a social deal for a walking route 6 km and to start with a cappacino and apple pie these were nice .went for 6km walk signs were not clear got help from someone on the way around that pointed out a short cut .got back to the restaurant had to wait for table to be cleared then ordered two ice teas , that he wanted to put down on the table that was full of crumbs so I asked him to clean it which he did , I also mentioned to him that the water they had put out for the dogs was green , it was still green when we left .the soup took 20 mins to come we had onion soup with a piece of bread and aioli which I thought cream cheese would have been better or that the aioli would have been better served with the main course ,which took another 40 minutes to arrive .the salad was nice , but the main course itself ( I had spicy mince with chips ) was very dry and mainly consisted of dry overcooked chips and about two tablespoons of meat .looked pretty though but looks can be deceiving .a shame because we were looking forward to it . Friendly bar with view over the river. Dog friendly. Food was good, home made. Great stop on a walk or bike ride. Overall liked the place very much the only minus was the waiting time just to order something to eat - took 1 hour A great “gezellig brown cafe” right by the water with friendly service and good food and beers. Visited with my 3 teens recently. The staff were nice but the service was extremely slow. It was busy, so maybe they were understaffed. Took about 20 mins to place an order and then about 45 mins for food to arrive. Food was OK, but we had much more superior meals in other places in Belgium. Waited again for drinks to arrive and half our meal was eaten. Not a great experience overall. Location is perfekt, the people theire Are very nice and friendly. 🔝 Place to be Visited on Christmas Day. Lovely setting on the banks of the Maas and a real cosy, comfortable feel to the place. Good service and friendly staff. Will definitely go back, probably in the summer when we can sit outside.
