Excellent would recommend. Great place We’ve hosted a couple of kids’ parties at Spennymoor Leisure Centre, and each one has been fantastic from start to finish. It’s a brilliant venue for energetic, fun-filled celebrations that the absolutely love — and it’s really well organised, which makes things so much easier for parents too. There are plenty of party options available depending on what your child is into — from soft play and sports to parties and bouncy castle setups. The facilities are modern, clean, and spacious, and the are great at making everything run smoothly. They take the stress off your shoulders and keep the children entertained and safe throughout the session. One of the best things is how much space there is for the to burn off energy — it’s ideal for bigger groups and works really well no matter the weather. The birthday packages are also really good value, especially considering what’s included. The team are friendly, helpful, and clearly experienced with running children’s events — they were always on hand to help with setup and keep things moving. If you’re looking for a fun, active, and affordable party option in the Spennymoor area, we’d definitely recommend Spennymoor Leisure Centre. The will love it — and so will you! The loved the experience Very good for some fun swimming, I would visit other places if your looking for lane etc. The wave machine is great fun and my daughter loved the waterslide. If you want to get in quick then you need to get there early, we got our ticket at 10am for the 11am start and by the we went back to the leisure center there was a massive queue. when its busy expect a wait of at least an hour. While we visited there was an incident with another swimmer, the were quick to get everyone out of the and help the person struggling to breath. Nice, clean and lots of activities..oh and a great little cafe, serving lattes, cakes etc, well priced and lovely staff! My daughter goes here for gymnastics and we've been a few times. It’s an hour but you spend up to 20 mins getting in and changed as they won’t let you in to change ready for the 6.30 session. are pleasant and is clean. Will go back again. It's lovely in there now it's been refurbished We went as a family and enjoyed ourselves. There is a long water slide, some splash buckets and a wave machine. You get 50 minutes which starts as you enter the water and you get a coloured band. We did get the full 50 minutes. We could have had longer! The are lovely. The changing rooms were nice and clean. We parked on farmfoods which was very nearby as the car park was full. It does get busy inside but we only queued about 10 mins max for the slide. They rotate the slide and wave so you get to experience each about 3 times in the 50 minutes you’re there. They are bringing in booking but not for summer so if you want guaranteed entry without having to come back at a later get there early for the first session is my advice. Or if you have to return there is a nice cafe with seating anyway. Friendly and a great party. Thank you Spennymoor Leisure Centre is a fantastic place to visit. It’s very easy to access with plenty of parking available, and being right in the town centre makes it really convenient. The bus station is just nearby, so getting here by public transport is simple too. The location is excellent, as it’s surrounded by refreshment areas, cafés, and supermarkets, making it easy to grab a bite or do some shopping before or after your visit. A great leisure hub in a very handy spot! Very helpful staff, clean, efficient, most of all though is the fact that the water in the is warm, it doesn't shock you when you first get in and I think that's a definite bonus. We'll worth a visit Great place, only downside not enough play available Spennymoor Leisure centre please sort your booking system out for the pool, I tried ringing to check on opening times rang and rang no answer, on line booking not available so just turned up to be told full can't book only way is to just turn up. The receptionist so upset as she had to turn so many children away and too busy to answer phone, spoke to 2 other families that had the same experience 😢 needs sorting out 😡 Extremely understaffed gym. I can only comment on times before lunchtime, as that's when I go. There is only a member in the gym in the morning about 50% of the time. Got questions in the morning? Too bad, there's probably not anyone there to answer them. I have new members occasionally come up to me asking what the heck to do, because they were just signed up with no offer of an induction, no guidance on what to do, and no mention that they could book their own induction on the website. Almost every I am there I overhear a complain from a paying member that they don't know what to do, and no members have told them. Even if there is a member there, they will just completely ignore the sounds of someone slamming plates together rapidly who obviously doesn't know how to use the machine they are on because they are too busy chatting! The man on the front desk of the leisure section was just rude and uninterested , had to drag the information out of him. asked a simple question and was speaking to me like i was an idiot. wanted to sign up for the gym and membership but i’ve joined one gym instead.
