Great family pub, rooms are cosy and clean, are all great. The Sunday Lunches very with a great selection of beers and wines, would definitely recommend. Arrived on the day of a shooting party event, so the bar area, which doubled up as the check in reception was busy. We were escorted to our up a flight of stairs and the was medium sized but looked well presented. Having read the welcome pack and placed all the luggage in the we decided to attend the bar but couldn't lock the door, called for the manager, who took a look but also couldn't lock it, so contacted his diy man. A couple of hours then passed, with no-one showing up. A member of suggested hitting it with a hammer and it worked. We dined on the premises and the food was very good. We did have to ask for a glass on the table to be changed as it was badly chipped. The were all very helpful. Breakfast the next morning was also very good. The same standard was repeated the following day. We did notice a couple of cleaning issues, cobwebs on the picture frame above the bed. Used sugar wrapper under the wardrobe and a previous guests elasterplast stuck on the bathroom floor(same colour as the bathroom floor tiles). The village is small and easy to find a route all the way around on a cicular walk, a size train set can be found around the village hall. Plenty of nice villages and pubs in the local area. We had to cut our visit short but nothing to do with the pub or service. Another thing is there can be a lot of noise from the kitchen area, making an early night difficult. Found it all very disappointing and stressful. Manager and arguing over tables as soon as we walked in, we should have walked back out then. Place looked stunning from the outside in a lovely village but inside looked tired. Drinks very average Had 2 nights here. The was excellent, with a very comfy bed and ensuite bathroom with both a bath and shower. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, bottled water and chocolates were all free. There was shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and liquid soap available. were excellent, professional and friendly and both breakfast and evening meal were delicious. Will definitely be back. Dropped in for early dinner 5.30pm on a Thursday. Fantastic Service and warmly personal staff. The food was delicious and I'd highly recommend. I'd advise you book a table in advance, the place was filling up as we were leaving, clearly a very popular hostelry. Would have happily stayed longer had we made a reservation. Attended a summer lunch for 50 people, this is my third visit here and once again the meal was delicious, all three courses. Very nice selection of non alcoholic drinks available. Nice seating outside and the restaurant is really nice and airy and surprisingly cool on a day were it hit 32° Look forward to returning! Fantastic pub set in a beautiful village. Food is quality home cooked food, all reasonably priced. are really helpful and friendly too. Would definitely recommend and am already planning another visit..... I live 110 miles away! A lovely inn with friendly staff. My was absolutely cozy and lovely. Check in and out easy. Great parking. Both meals, dinner and breakfast were very good. A bit disappointed by mash potatoes having run out. Chip alternative was fine. Lemon mess dessert was excellent! Checked in for a one night stay yesterday, Sunday, December 29. Had a wonderful Sunday lunch and a few nice pints in the bar in the evening. very comfortable. attentive and friendly. Happy to thoroughly recommend. Over on holiday from Shropshire, and this was one of the best Sunday roasts we've had. Great, inventive staff, guys venue, and great food. Thank you, we will definitely leave a recommendation in our accommodations guest book. I wish I could give more than 5 stars for service. We booked this hotel as we were attending a wedding in nearby Helmsley. The hotel is in a stunning setting. The were really wonderful and the management really do go above and beyond. The breakfast was amazing. I really can’t fault this hotel at all. It’s very traditional. We stayed in 1 which overlooked the main road which was perfect. We can’t wait to stay again ❤️ Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
