The best spa we've visited (Sep 2018). A corporate style set within a course with a great spa and a decent sized gym on site. Add to this a fantastic restaurant with superb quality food and this is a fab location for a spa break. For £105 pp (based on two sharing, £155 single supplement charge), you get one nights accommodation, full access to the spa and gym, a lunch on arrival, £28 contribution towards dinner, and a buffet breakfast plus a 50 minute treatment in the spa. The rooms are a size, nicely decorated and very comparable with other corporate hotels. The spa includes a lovely blue lit pool, sauna and steam room and a power shower. There are plenty of loungers around the pool which is set to a comfortable temperature. The gym is a size and on my visit only had one person using it. A series of resistance weight machines along with cardio machines and dumbbells are available. The lunch on arrival was a nice size and came with a little dessert afterwards. The restaurant has a nice relaxed atmosphere and service to go with delicious food. I have a steak and it was one of the best I've eaten. Drinks are expensive, but nothing out of the ordinary for this type of venue. I was a little disappointed by the breakfast - the bacon was rubbery and the scrambled eggs tasted off. But there was a buffet selection. I'm taking it that this was just a bad day for breakfast. In summary - a bargain price, getting so much for your money, and definitely a place we will visit again (this month in fact). The course is not very well kept, especially the tee boxes, but also the fairways, although in mitigation it is obvious the course is heavily used. As for the course itself it is middling in interest, has some difficult holes and some much easier. It was a very slow round as the three in front of the pair in front of us should really have let both of us through as far back as the 2nd hole as they were obviously struggling to keep up with the pace of the game. It can be very frustrating to wait at least 5 minutes at every hole. A minimum of 50 minutes waiting around. Lastly and very strangely, I didn't see any course maintenance going on after the rains of the previous day(s). A couple of greens could certainly have done with repair. Overall not bad, the rooms and corridors could do with a lick of paint to spruce them up as they are starting to look dated, the spa is also looking tired. But now onto the positives, The outside is nice and scenery is breathtaking, the were very friendly and the food delicious. Enjoyed few days booked into their Feature room, with views and generously spacious. Breakfast very good, also enjoyed their evening menu. However, the Afternoon Tea very disappointing; poor selection of cakes that had suspicions bought from cash and carry and taken from freezer, we didn't eat the scones. Eotho scheme so £10 off but quality doesn't reflect the menu price. Pool facility managed very well under Covid restrictions, we booked daily time slots and found pool area has soothing spa feel. Staff very friendly and helpful, thank you. First visit to Telford Course. The course and greens were immaculate the entire round and all the were friendly and welcoming. Relatively steep profile in some parts (especially last 3 holes) with the climb from 11th to 12th being especially vertical. Cart recommended for those with limited mobility. Bar was well stocked although food was slightly pricey. Sausage Bap, small bowl of fries and a shandy came to (£17). Will definitely visit again! LOVE this spa! Louise is the best masseuse I have come across in years. All are knowledgeable and very helpful. The pool/facilities are always clean and tidy. Great food, great service. Definitely worth being a member, wether you golf, train, swim or just want to chill out this place has it. Great after a gap in visiting . Excellent service in hotel, friendly staff. Felt safe in after opening after lockdown. Lovely leisure facilities. sized rooms. Food was very tasty. Would love to visit again Well well well, Telford club it was quite the pleasurable weekend. Now before I get to some of the issues we had let's start with the positives, the course was in a decent condition especially considering the recent weather. The rooms were very pleasant and the Aircon was definitely appreciated..... Now according to the website the course claims to be inspired by Augusta, the only similarities I could see was that it had 18 holes, 18 tee boxes and 18 flags that's where the resemblance ends. The 10th tee box was completely illegal and has overgrown trees blocking a tee shot, either hit a snap hook or be prepared to fetch your ball in the trees. The 11th tee box was a sandpit, nearly made a castle whilst I was waiting. As for the marshall that drove round like some power crazy SS soldier just shouting and moaning at everyone, frankly it was rude and not really required. Now onto the service, starting with the bar. One bar working seemed a little light and it took quite a while to get a drink, fortunately I was used to it after the first dinner service. We were a large society but I think that 3 hours for dinner was just an excessive wait for food that had been microwaved for so long it had more radiation than a Chernobyl victim. The waiting were fantastic and tried very hard to bring us all the correct and required food with a smile. However there was a person that missed his tortellini and had to have 5 pints for dinner, not very nutritional. Other than that it was a fantastic experience, would go again! was very nice . The were excellent. However the course was in a shocking state . Probably better to close the course when it’s so boggy to protect it. I’m sure it’s a lovely course in the summer . Nice course but no management at all. Spent more time waiting to tee off than playing. What happened to letting people plat through. Won't be returning.
