Casa da Cereja

Fundão, Portugal Museum

Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. We have arrived at 14h, when is supposed to open in the afternoon. After 20 minutes waiting there nobody appeared. A nice man living in front of the museum made a phone call to the person in charge and he/she told that will arrive in 15 minutes, at 14,35. Obviously we decided to leave. I think this is unacceptable, a very unrespectful attitude towards the tourism. I enjoyed this compact and informative museum. The staff member, Ana, is very welcoming and speaks English well. The scenic vista from the terrace is breathtaking. There are examples of liqueurs and cherry products available for sale. If you point your cellphone camera at the plaques, you can translate the information. The architecture is stunningly modern, sustainable, accessible reflective of the Fundão cherry culture. Very pleasentvand cozy presentation of the cherry world. Is part of a set of rooms scattered through Fundao municipality, to visit, which show the experiences and affections of its people's. It is worth visiting if you're nearby. It is a new museum exploring all that there is to know about the cherry growth/production in the Cova da Beira region. It explains the origins of the fruit, the different varieties, the growing process and its harvest. It is somewhat interactive and has some short videos (also in English). The staff is very friendly and it's free of charge. Lovely free museum Wonderful information centre well worth a visit, the lady inside was very helpful and friendly This is all a museum should be! It’s interesting and interactive, perfect combination of art and knowledge. But not just abstract knowledge you could get from a book. The space also feels like a homage to cherries and to the people of this little village.
