Just had lunch here and the food were soo good! The portions are big, the taste was authentic and delicious, the homemade lemonade was soo refreshing! You can taste the good quality food and ingredients when you eat and the view was really nice Legitimately one of the best restaurants I have been to in my life. The food, the view, and the people were all unbelievably wonderful that I found myself continuiting to come back for more several times. It was the perfect location for me as a solo traveler. I sat at one table for three hours getting food and drinks at my own pace and got to meet a bunch of other patrons who cycled through. The staff was so friendly and made me feel like I was eating at a restaurant I had been to my entire life, even though I was in a completely new place. 10/10 a place you must eat at while in Zante! We discovered The Windmill while driving around Zakynthos and it became a must-visit spot! ​The Zakynthian Frygania is a Must-Order! We initially just came in for a drink, but after being warmly greeted and checking the menu, we ordered the recommended Zakynthian Frygania dessert—it was absolutely amazing. We learned they make it fresh every day! We tried this local dessert at other locations during our holiday, and none even came close to this one. We even went out of our way on our last day just to have it one more time. ​Great Food and Warm Service: We ended up returning several times for lunch and dinner, which was also excellent, especially the daily local specialty dishes. The staff's love for good food and creating wonderful moments truly shows in their warm smiles and service. ​Don't Forget the View: To top it all off, the view looking out to Keri is absolutely spectacular—another fantastic reason to sit, relax, and enjoy a meal or a drink here. One of the best foods and restaurants we have been at. We came back a second time ! From the starters, to the mains to the desserts .. absolutely delicious ! Money well spent. The staff were so so friendly and kind, on both nights we went they served us with free cinnamon liquor made here and a traditional dessert to try. You feel actually welcomed and that they want to share their food and culture with you. Not to mention the beautiful view, definitely try this place if you visit here :) The Windmill is in a beautiful location with views out across olive groves and the sea. Wonderful greeting, only wanted drinks and was no issue. Sitting below the moving arms of the windmill was lovely and the drinks we had, ice cream frappé and double greek coffee were lovely and refreshing, and reasonably priced. A lighter bite option, sandwich, omelette, baguette etc would have been the icing on the cake! Only in Zakynthos for a week but glad we found the Windmill! Food was impeccable! Views panoramic! We went here twice during our trip, because all the other trendy TikTok/Instagram restaurants that everyone recommends turned out to be super disappointing – but this taverna? Next level. Hands down the most delicious food we had anywhere. Everything was homemade, super flavorful, and even as vegetarians we had amazing options – not just an afterthought, but full dishes with care and taste. We even came 30 minutes before closing one evening, and they still served us everything, fresh and with a smile. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming – something we honestly hadn’t experienced anywhere else here so far. If you want authentic, insanely good food with warm hospitality: go here.
