The is massive and stretches from the main party strip if that is your scene all the way across to the much quieter Kalamaki which is a protected reserve for sea turtles. Whether you are looking for a loud party atmosphere or somewhere to chill with the family this place has it all. There is a part of the very beautiful and quiet, a natural turtle reserve. Water very shallow and hot, perfect for kids. 5/5, highly recommend, nice Beach, long but narrow but its not a problem, sunbeds are free for the whole day as long as you order something from the restaurant, either food or drink. Very warm sea, clear and simply beautiful. It is even possible to spot a turtle! One minor issue is that all restaurants are close to each other and the music played can be heard from 3/4 different restaurants. Amazing from the part after the sunbeds towards kalmaki. Perfect for paddle boarding and watching the swa turtels by yourself .and snorkeling. be aware of winds and sea conditions changing very fast from flat and calm to abig mess. I have seen boats passing above sea turtles and putting them in danger. its not clear why motor boats allowed in this part of laganas during nesting season compared with gereka which do not even allow kayaks and sup. The photos are taken after a storm. The is covered with sand and a few clams. You don't need special shoes for going into the sea as the first meters are with sand and clams, but after that it's only sand. There are multiple restaurant/beach clubs which offer sunbeds for 10 euro/person, drinks not included. Nice beach, at eaving you can find turtles. It jas a lot of bars, just choose one and enjoj in drinks and sea. It is made of sand and water is really nice to play water sports and swim. I was shocked at the amount of garbage at the (in the areas without chairs owned by stores) and around the beach. We filled an entire garbage bag with garbage just from the 100 meters of that we walked on. Shame on the city. I understand it’s a party town but it’s hypocritical to say you protect sea turtles and sea life and then a so close to protected wildlife areas is full of plastic and garbage.
