Bar Los Picos

Villadangos del Páramo, Spain Cafe

Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. The best place to eat and enjoy, super cleaner and the service is so special, her owner name Martha. Literally the only choice for dinner in San Martin Food wasn’t bad, just really expensive. Overpriced! No *menu del día* available, and the prices are by item. One fruit was just okay, but very expensive. We ended up spending over $25 per person for a meal that would normally cost no more than $15 elsewhere, including wine. While the waiter was extremely nice and friendly, I can't recommend this place due to the high cost. Prices not clear. Great chicken thighs! So delicious and good service! Seriously disappointed by how my fellow pilgrim and I were treated. I order food and drinks for the both of us then paid and left while my fellow pilgrim stayed. Then 30 minutes after I left I get a call from him and it was the waitress on the bar saying that the 20€ I paid for was not usable and was asking me to go back to change the bill!! In the end, she frantically forced him to « exchange » the bill. That’s incompetence at its best (she should of notice when I was there!j if not close to fraud as my pilgrim friend couldn’t know if the bill was mine. Also the sandwich I ordered was overly priced for uncooked bacon and cheese. The only thing they could do right is serve a Coca Cola.. My advise to fellow pilgrims is to avoid this joint! Great place for a filling pilgrim’s menu! They have the classic things you would expect as well as unique delicacies. Everything is made on the spot, and everyone there is happy to help. Marta is wonderful to talk to! I left happy and ready for a full day the next day. (Also they have fans and cold drinks which can’t be underestimated after coming out of the meseta!) Bad food...at least for and Italian. Pasta overcooked, full of oil I have never before written a Google Review but the food was so bad I had to do it. A group of us turned up for dinner only to find out that they no longer do a pilgrim's menu. Instead, we each ordered a main; the lasagne looked like it was one of those pre-made ones that you buy at the supermarket and cook in the microwave. We found a soup in a can that looked exactly like the one that was served. The bacon on the platos combinados was more like shaved ham and was rather sad, as were the chips which were clearly frozen chips that had also been microwaved. I had this dish and it is the first time I have refused to do more than taste a meal that I paid good money for. €9 for two undercooked fried eggs, sad and tasteless "bacon" and frozen fries/chips that were soggy and had no crunch or flavour. Plates came out one at a time and with long intervals in between which added to our microwave suspicion. The lady serving was was kind and had a big smile though. She did at least offer us drinks because we were all disappointed by the quality of food - we all declined as we just wanted to leave. Sorry to write such a scathing review as the place could be really good.
