The staff were friendly, and the food was pretty good too. It was almost to 4pm on Saturday, we were hungry in Camino France way, then there won’t be many restaurants opened on Saturday afternoon. Thought we might buy a bread and eat at hotel room. But even after 4:12 pm, it seemed chefs and waiters were having lunch but accepted to order few foods. Grateful !!! The waitress explained about desert cakes from local and water had given us warmth emailed. Felt home away home, just before the lunar new year day. Happy new year of Rabits’ 2023, hope no COVID, my left arm is aching with 4th vaccine. ;) Great spot for coffee stop whilst walking the Camino. We tried to eat there twice today. The first time we were simply ignored both outside and in the shop. The second time we asked if there was anything to eat and they said no... it was already late... not to mention the friendliness of the staff... it was probably very late then... absolutely not recommended. Villadangos is more of a place where you just walk through. And pilgrims are apparently not welcome here, even with children. One of the worst places on the Camino de Santiago Having walked for several hours we were very hungry. We entered the restaurant and everyone looked at us like we had 3 heads. Definitely got the vibe that we were not welcome. Don’t waste your time stopping here . They really don’t seem to cater to peregrinos. Servers look busy but not sure about what for. They were too busy for nothing so they decided to ignore us. We waited for the waiter for more than 15 minutes and in the end, we had to come to him and ask if the menu was available but he said they would close in 50 minutes. (It would be good if we knew it 15 minutes ago ) Long waiting for nothing! It’s a very typical Spanish restaurant in terms of laziness! On a Sunday at 3 pm. The restaurant was very busy however this is no excuse for serving awful food. We had snappy service from the waitresses. Attached is a photo of a beef dish. Served cold. The beef was so tough that it just wasn’t edible. Avoid. Lovely Place and a nice Family Restaurant. I gained a delicious Pizza and a nice bottle of a local whine called Brumar. That was totally a perfekt Dinner as a peregrino. They we're really Kind and i felt very Welcome. Thanks for that lovely memory.
