Ok, so yes I did read the reviews before going. I knew it was small, but I never actually realised just how it would be. Seriously- I wouldn’t even call it a zoo - more like pets corner… The through bird enclosure had mainly pigeons in it. Although there are two through enclosures, birds and lemurs, surprisingly there are no hand sanitizer stations or hand washing facilities except for within the toilets inside the main building. The only hand sanitizer dispenser we saw on our was just inside the main building/entrance door and it was empty. Despite being advertised on the sign outside as having a gift shop, we found this also to be virtually empty. Our lasted an hour and 20 minutes tops - and this included having lunch in the onsite cafe. This place needs a kick up the bum. If this is all they’ve managed to create since 2019 they should just give up… If you do decide to (and I really don’t recommend it) then make sure you buy your tickets in advance as it costs more to pay at the “zoo”. Great little zoo, compact for little legs yet plenty to see and do. Highlights included the Lemur Walk-through, great to see these wee guys up and not behind a cage. And the Aviary too. Little Armadillo was the best and the Porcupine and Mercats were personal favourites. My little one is at an age where poo done it was a hit too 😂💩 If you have an hour to spare it's a lovely wee for the kids. zoo but selection of animals. Coffee and gift also. Ticket prices are very cheap but buying does save you a %. All ground level so wheelchair and buggy accessible A wee zoo with a few fun to see. However, do be aware of the following before you go, as this rather soured our experience: - Tickets are much cheaper than on the day at the counter. Unfortunately the website wasn't working when I tried to book for our trip. - A portion of the zoo is under renovation currently, so many of the aren't there (Zebras for example). They have not reduced their ticket prices to reflect this, nor moved to a donation system like the deer centre sometimes uses. It was very cold, so we didn't get to see all the animals. They were almost all inside their houses. It is a place to spend time with the family. As for the cafe, I loved the margarita pizza, the hot chocolate was very tasty and the black coffee was all very tasty. The total cost in the was £18.00. The cost of entry is in a photo. Even with the cold, the time spent at Fife Zoo was good. For the price you pay to get in it's a 1/2 day to take children. Up and personal with some and staff were friendly I would definitely come back here and look forward to my next visit. Canteen onsite slightly pricey but the food was and made fresh. Sweet and peaceful wee zoo with Zebras and a Fosa. Great for very children who are learning to walk, or need a low stimulation environment, as not very crowded, and very small. You could probably see it in half an hour. A few things that could be improved however, are the bathrooms were not working, and not very clean. Also it was hard to see the behind windows, as the windows were really dirty and hadn’t been cleaned in a long time (cobwebs and all). The gift has eco friendly toys which is nice, but could maybe use a wider selection of books? A few more play areas like a duplo table, or a sand pit might help make the experience a bit more worth the entrance fee (£23 for two adults and one child over 2 or cheaper if booked online). Dropped in for a for somewhere different to have a zoo with the kids. After reading reviews I knew it would be and I do feel that the prices do reflect this. It's well kept and the lemur was definitely a favourite. They also have a large cafe, a outdoor playpark, gift and lovely clean toilet facilities. Lots of space for parking which is free. Overall we spent around an hour and half taking our time. For a zoo just finding its feet it is worth a little if in the area. Really little Zoo, I would definitely recommend buying tickets as they were a little cheaper but overall a really little zoo. It only take about 30 minutes to see everything. My favourite part was the tarantula, she was beautiful 😍 would come back again. As other reviews mention it is a zoo, however they have some very interesting and the enclosures are great, they offer viewing points as well as hiding spots for the animals. I’m happy to pay the ticket prices so the money goes towards the and the zoo, and hope in future they add even more animals! Unfortunately the bird through was closed due to bird flu but this was for the welfare of the so totally understandable. The was lovely with a great little seating area outside at the play park, and they have picnic tables round the animal side for people who brought their own food. What I would like to see however is a better play park for the kids as it is very basic and not much in it. The toilets were really quite unclean and need checking more often. A better selection in the gift would be nice. And finally I suggest perhaps putting some information on the enclosures not just about the in general but about the specific animals, their names, age, gender, how long they’ve been at the zoo etc so you can get to know the you’re actually visiting. All in all we spent a few hours here having a picnic, went round the a couple of times, kids had a play at the park. to see it making a come back after recent years. Onwards and upwards! Great local zoo, various on display and the was also lovely with high quality staff and food. Really poor. Wouldn't recommend this to any families. Luckily paid for this so cost £14 instead of £18.50 for 1 adult and 2 children. Got around the "attractions" and in 5 minutes. After that there's nothing. This place doesn't even come to the deer centre. Night and day. Deer centre which is only 5 minutes along the road trumps the place by a country mile. Doesn't surprise me it was dead when we arrived in April holidays. Obviously the zoo is trying their best however the prices don't reflect the experience. There is a park and cafe. Staff were friendly etc. The reason for one star review is purely due to getting around the zoo in 5 minutes. Wasted journey. Although it’s a particular zoo, the were all well cared for and the keepers are very attentive. We visited the before seeing the and we were all impressed with the quality of the food and the prices! A great wee day out , not a large zoo , but definitely value for money , enough for the kids to do and see , staff very friendly , all are up and and the Lemur is so to through their enclosure , What a wonderful experience! I had the pleasure of meeting Travis the porcupine (he has stolen my heart!), the meerkats and tortoises. Micheal was our guide, not only does that man love these but oozes passion and shares his wealth of knowledge so you're aware of all their little journeys. I'm excited for the next steps for fife zoo in building their and mighty sanctuary into something bigger and brighter. P. s I love you Travis! 💋 A wonderful and cute zoo!!! I have absolutely no clue why there are so many negative reviews. It’s a lovely family run, zoo that needs support to expand. My boyfriend and I spent over an hour exploring and interacting with the animals. The lemur through exhibit was well worth the entry fee alone!! Let alone the bird enclosure which was amazing to see so many species I’d never seen before. It’s a brilliant chance to take unobstructed photos up of for keen photographers. The all looked clean, healthy and happy. Their enclosures looked packed full of enrichment and were all well maintained. 10/10 experience, it made my week being able to be so to the lemurs.
