Large eating area with great views out over the silvery Tay, although probably closer to brown at the moment. The food that was served was delicious, and the lattes were hot and tasted nice. The servers were polite, prompt, and well presented. The farm shop wasn't as highly stocked as our last visit but still plenty to browse through. The prices reflected the quality of food served in the restaurant and shop. There is a large selection of second-hand books for purchase in aid of charity, honesty box provided. The toilets were clean and tidy. Large free carpark outside. Went into cafe as was going to Wood mill game shop. As always nice display of cake/cheesecake. Good menu selection and reasonable prices. Lovely decor, nice seats, great if you sit beside window. Caramel crunch cappuccino was a new experience. Eggs Benedict spot on, and cherry scone was fresh with plenty cherries. Definitely return. Dropped in for lunch, We took the mac and cheese , wife declared it first class (not the runny stuff some places dish up) I had the vegan Fajitas which were surprisingly tasty . A good selection of cakes. Lovely view from the window Welcomed and shown to a lovely table with a view. Good lunch options and staff friendly and helpful. Food was lovely and reasonably priced. Massively disappointed winery my visit. Arrived at 11:40 and requested either someone slightly off menu for breakfast for our toddler or access to the kids lunch mention. Upon checking with the chef with waitress told us there was no flexibility and wouldn’t open the lunch menu until noon. The place itself was fine and the views were lovely but the hospitality means I can’t give it anymore than 1 star. Hit up the garden centre and book a table in the village. Shocking service by restaurant staff. Left standing in queue for about 20 mins, staff avoided contact. Clearly tables empty but had large queue waiting. Elderly lady went up to pay her meal, staff pushed past here, stood in front of her and totally avoided speaking with her, she had to ask to pay, despite standing in front of them. Heard someone ask for a milk shake, staff member said "I wouldn't bother, kitchen backed up, it'll take ages". Staff then came to queue and said I'm not going to be able to serve any of you, there was about 12 people waiting. Shame as we spent a lot in the garden centre and would've enjoyed some lunch. Under prepared! Steak pie was absolutely delicious, as was the sticky toffee pudding and the apple crumble! Very disappointed today. We sat in the dog friendly area for 30 mins waiting for our table to be cleared and to place our order. Eventually we approached a server to be told abruptly the kitchen was closed.
