Great 17th century articular called the old Evangelical with a huge new next to it. Hundreds of years of Hungarian and Slovak history. A beautiful that you wouldn't know it from the outside. An unassuming and low-key building with the incredible decoration. You're not allowed to take pictures inside. And even though we arrived when it was open, we were turned away. I didn't really understand the reason, but the lady was kind of grumpy :-) Anyway, I rate the BUILDING not apathetic. Very beautiful with striking mix of sublime and naïve pieces of ecclesiastical art and interior decorations. Definitely worth a visit inside. Access every half an hour with a guide who speaks for Slovak audience while we got a flier with explanations in English language. Entry ticket 3 Eur per person which also allows entry to neighboring new Evangelical church. The first building of the was built already in 1687. In 1717 it was rebuilt and given the present shape . The is sacred to the Holy Trinity. Protestants from the whole northern Europe financially supported the building. Swedish and Danish kings ordered whip-rounds in their countries to support the building of this church. The construction was carried out without using a single nail. The clay plastered exterior walls are rather misguiding whereby only shingle roof suggests that it´s really a jewel. The also called “articular church” offers 1500 places to sit on the ground floor and six choirs. The evangelical was written into the List of the UNESCO World Heritage, within the scope of the enlistment of the Churches of the Slovak part of the Carpathian Mountain Area in 2008. Beautiful church. 5€ for entry seems quite expensive but it's a stunning unique church. Wonderful evangelical with a nicely decorated interior and a precious organ. UNESCO World heritage site. Worth visiting! if you plan a trip in this town you have to visit this little church, it is wonderful, and our guide lady was very kind! Unfortunately, it was forbidden to use camera there, but the is worth a visit. Its free (with option to pay for commented tour). Krásny drevený kostol Beware of their opening hour. They are closed briefly around noon. Really cool and unique church. The interior ceilings were painted with a nice blue color. Not allowed to take pictures inside. Velmi pekne Leider am Sonntag geschlossen, sonst sicher spektakulär. One of the best preserved Slovak sacral buildings is the articled Evangelical of the Holy Trinity (Kostol sv. Tojice) in Kežmarok. In 2008, along with seven churches of the Slovak part of Carpathian Mountain Area, it was included on the UNESCO Word Heritage List.
