We dropped in after a quick map search. It’s lovely. Food was fresh and well prepared, tasted fab. Staff were lovely and spoke English. We 100% be back in the future. We can totally recommend going to Romnesa. The service is friendly, helpful and also speaks English. The food is tasty and typical Lithuanian. We had Šaltibarščiai, Koldūnai and Bulvinai blynai which were really good. They also offer a local cider and the homemade Šakotis. The prices are more than fair. Went there for Cepelinai, which were really good. Unfortunately, didn't take a photo of them. Menu is big, plenty of options for everyone. Kids enjoyed crepes. Has an outdoor terrace. Food was delicious but portions compared to prices where a bit too small. However, very nice original šakotis deserts for good prices. We ordered BBQ beef cheeks and got a delicious well cooked meal. The menu has allergens next to each meal, so there is no need to ask for additional menu or info. There is a parking lot next to and plenty of space inside. During the summer they open a terrace, however, it's still better to call them directly to book a table. The food was not good, none of the four people liked it. The spit cake we bought was also dry. We were really looking forward to having lunch at Romnesa in Ignalina during our road trip. Unfortunately, we were turned away because we had a small dog with us. I understand that not every place is pet-friendly, but it was frustrating and upsetting, especially because we were traveling with a hungry child. Our dog is tiny and well-behaved — we weren’t planning to let him run around or disturb anyone. But the staff wouldn’t let us dine even on the terrace, and we were left with no real option but to leave. Leaving a small dog alone in a car, especially in the summer, is not an acceptable or safe choice. We would have appreciated even a little flexibility or understanding, or at least a designated area for people with pets. This experience made us feel very unwelcome and disappointed. If you’re traveling with a pet — even a very small one — be aware that this place does not accommodate. Fantastic restaurant. Lovely family dinner- bbq ribs, chicken stew all delicious! Lovely friendly staff and tranquil location. Highly recommend!
