Very little to see here actually but if you're in Hardwich anyway, seeing the fort, the lighthouses etc, then it's worth a visit. I paid for an hour parking directly outside and that was enough. The shop is cute with some souvenir items and some good history. The is short but has plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the look out. There are the options of boat trips and a look round the boat as seen in "The boat that rocked". There is a deli/cafe but I gave it a miss based on prices and the mixed reviews it has received but can't directly comment on it's fayre - though the venue itself looks very nice. There is an additional ice cream counter at the front and usually an ice cream truck out the front that does a proper '99... You know with real whippy ice cream and genuine cadbury flakes. There are around 10 pay parking spots directly outside but other car parking options a little further out. Public toilets are directly opposite the and there appears to be a very restaurant/hotel over the road, but again I cannot comment on it directly. Overall, a short stop but on a day it is worth a look. We've visited this a couple of years ago and liked it. Not much there, was hoping to watch the ships coming and going but it must have been a quiet day. Lovely food from the burger than though and parking was easier than expected. Really lovely place to sit and watch the sunset. Boat spotting is an added bonus, especially around 7pm when the Stena Line ferry glides in. Also a lovely spot for crabbing. My one gripe is with the Milsom's café on the pier, 18.. something. The pizzas look great value, but everything else is overpriced and tiny. Order carefully. with a cafe. Toilets and a tea room just across the road. Never been to Harwich before, attractions only open school holidays and weekends after, place to spend a couple of hours, good burger bar by the harbour wall. It's a small but popular for locals and multinational visitors. It has a cafe, which serves great quality food and drink. The views are lovely, especially in the evening towards sunset. Its worth and hour of your time even if its just to sit and relax. Not a big by any means, but a very historic town with a maritime walk and walks for all abilities. Public toilets are opposite the pier, with others if you walk along the promenade towards Dovercourt. Various eateries and pubs in the area, the has a cafe on it. A quaint piece of history definitely worth a visit. Treat yourself to the foot ferry to Felixstowe or Shotley. It leaves from the - grab a round trip. Really interesting, lots to see. I was only there to catch the harbour ferry but there was more to see. Super place to sit and watch the world go by, especially the ships across at Felixstowe. Great ice cream too! Went down to Harwich on a Saturday afternoon, it was absolutely lovely. Just to stand on the and the fact you can see everything from where you are standing like Shotley Gate and Felixstowe docks, Even the people in the little gift shop on the where lovely and gave us a map and some information leaflets for next time we come. It was a wonderful day out definitely come again.
