Amazingly nice, I was impressed overall by the whole town. Felixstowe is a hidden gem, beautiful and holding its own. Obviously locals keeping this all to themselves to stop the riff raff and Wetherspoons drinkers. Sssshhh. is quite nice but only at low tide, otherwise the water is up to the sea wall. More sandy at the old Felixstowe end and slightly more down at heel towards the port direction, where there are amusements and a caravan park. Best viewed from a hut! The large drain emptying onto the near the pier was somewhat off-putting. The pier itself, though complete, is otherwise featureless. Perhaps sunshine might have helped improve the appearance of a desperately grey North Sea. Felixstowe was clean but the whole 'seaside theme' needs a good overhaul... it's tired and Under-invested in. That said, when parked the walk was pleasant along the wide promenade, litter was minimal and other's behaviour polite. It really is a shame that this coastal location isn't capitalised upon more by local business/land owners... it could become the blueprint for a British Seaside Renaissance. Do visit though, there are many such places offering much less than Felixstowe does. Beautiful day. Great walk along the seafront from Clusters to the Pier and back. The investment in the seafront gardens etc has been well worthwhile. Thoroughly recommend a visit. This is one of our favourite beaches within the Norfolk / Cambs driving range. We love Felixstowe! Almost always dune at Ruby's, bottom of the High St and can usually get a table in the conservatory overlooking the sea. Food, staff and atmosphere great. Then down to the promenade for a walk So nice and local to us. Just right amount of seaside fun and nature Walked from the pier to the viewing point across sandy heathland where you can have a nice meal/coffee - on a nice day the outside seating has great views of the dock cranes at work Beautiful beach. Great access. Free WiFi never works. Parking can be very difficult during peak times. Toilets on beach. Plenty of food shops with a large variety to choose from. Felixstowe is a lovely place to visit. Straight down the A14. Takes us between 1hr 45 to 2hrs (Depending on traffic) to get here from Kettering, Northants. We first visited on the 20/04/2025. 2nd time today 04/05/2025. Both times we found parking, a lot of cars manage to park on the road, but I don't mind paying Pay and Display. As soon as we parked up, went through some huts and boom, straight on the promenade walkway and there is the beach. It's a beautiful beach, pebble and sand stretching for miles. Today they had Vintage,Classic Cars and a Motorcycle Rally. Be aware this will take up one of the main car parks near the promenade. So many places to choose from to eat, both visits we went to Saltwater Fish and Chips. They have a takeaway desk and you can also dine in. Both times we've visited, we ate here and very happy with our meals, portion sizes were perfect for us. Plenty of Amusements. Plenty of places to eat including the bit by Manning's Amusements where there are some lovely smelling things being cooked and consumed. Beautiful place. I will definitely go again.
