Did the Halloween one in the dark. Oh my even the adults were screaming. So funny, 14 year old loved it. Really enjoyed this ride, but be aware that all instructions given at the start of the ride are given in French, even though the guide knew we were English . This meant we were unaware that the final few carriages were only for the short trip and so we missed out on the full, long trip that we had actually booked. They did refund us the difference, but for future reference, PLEASE CHECK YOU ARE IN THE CORRECT CARRIAGE BEFORE SETTING OFF. Aside from this, the trip was amazing, only wished it would have lasted longer. Note essential to book in advance. 3 departures per day in fixed groups. We had a really great time but would not recommend for anyone of a nervous disposition or very young children. We came with children aged 9-12 I would not recommend for much younger. It goes faster than you’d think, especially on the return! It’s noisy too, constantly squeaking metal on metal. 8km each way. To turn the cars round you have to use a simple raised wheel mechanism. The views of the river and town, plus huge fields of sunflowers are beautiful but note you are not allowed to stop along the route. The verbal safety briefing is entirely in French. 11 cars go together keeping 100m apart at all times. Great fun for 2 adults and 2 children. Goes up some small inclines and then fast down slope. Get there on time to listen to the demonstration about how to turn the car. Good fun enjoyed by all. Technical problem on the return journey we hope is investigated please. The views were lovely of the city and it was a really unique activity. Thanks for the response. Clearly coming off the rails at low speed but injuring my whole family was not ok and we suspect the track needs work to avoid this happening ever again. Great day out for couples and families. The velorail runs through some lovely scenery, taking in the town castles. Kids will love this. Nice attraction for children. Don't expect much of a historic view. It's like a nice rollercoaster attraction. After a short introduction and safety briefing (both in French & English) you depart on your 18.7km journey through mostly forest with a couple of nice places in between. You need a fair level of fitness for this 2 hour, mostly uphill ride but it's something different and unique, we'll worth a visit. A great way to spend a couple of hours. Views are great! Amazing. I recommend that you book before and on the day pick the 1 hour if you like beauty instead of 2 hours of cycling. It’s great and the best thing we did in Poitiers but good to have other people to do it with as hard work if you find cycling tricky. Great fun for all the family. Tough going up, easy and quick coming back down! Wonderful fun, the way out can be a little hard-work but the return journey more than makes up for it. Zoooooom! Brilliant fun. Loved every minute! This time of year I’d recommend wearing gloves and lots of layers of clothing as can get chilly if not the ones cycling. Will definitely be back in Spring 2021. Thoroughly recommend it.
