We actually set out to here, from Newport on the buses. We caught the 30 from Newport bus station. This takes you on a lovely journey through the countryside. Then goes to the new Cardiff bus terminal where a few steps along , you can pick up the St Fagans bus, direct to the museum. A fab service. The only downside is, the last bus leaves the museum at 14.55.. We used our time to look around the and gardens. Which are really beautiful. Well laid out. And a choice of using the steps or a longer route that is very good for buggies and wheelchair access. So we managed to do about a third of the museum today. However, it won't be long and we will be back, to explore the rest of the park. Hopefully, we will be as lucky with the beautiful weather! 😊 and maybe interest our friends in Coming with us. The children would love the treetop obstacles cause!. Second time here and it was even better the second time! Such a fantastic way to preserve and learn the great of Wales. Never gets old🤣🤣 St Fagans has beautiful gardens with statues andnwildlife, it is an educational place to learn for all ages. It has a restaurant and gift shop. It also has a farm area where you can enter the buildings. Great place to Highly recommended. It is free to visit. The is partly open to the public. The interior of the rooms and chambers is nicely presented. The kitchen is also open, as well as, very interestingly, the daily schedule of the lords' service. The garden is wonderful, though. Large, spacious, well-kept. Brilliant place to on a nice sunny day. If you're bored of going to the beaches, this place is a great substitute. Loads of gardens to see and lovely flowers. The is small and actually better than expected. I would suggest bringing your own drinks if you are going to relax over here. The cafe does not have the best options. Definitely recommend visiting. Nice manor house and lovely grounds to wander. No entry fee Have visited many times before, but just had a ride up to the village on my bike - looking lovely as ever ! First and was very impressed. There's plenty to see and lots to learn for old and young alike. Beautiful grounds with areas of wild flowers and more formal borders, together with woodland and open fields and meadows. Then there are the wonderful exhibits and buildings to explore, from to pig sty. Stop for a picnic or head to the large cafeteria to refuel before continuing. Children will love the old-fashioned rides and slot machines in the little fairground, or the play area with swings and climbing frames. So much to see and do, you would be unlikely to capture it all in one visit. A very pleasant experience shared with my daughters and grandchildren. Nice interesting and free place to but off season but still a beautiful looking and can see a lot more goes on in peak season Love this place. So much to do and see. Well spaced out and lots of room for families to enjoy. Building are a must to with details of their and well informed staff around the site. A great day out and well worth a visit. My second to St Fagans Castle/museum. Honestly is a great day out. Even better when it's free, just have to pay parking. I think all ages can enjoy this day out. Great especially if you love culture and history! Definitely worth a visit. Gives you so much insight into Welsh life and history. Plus cute little gift shops, decorated in traditional Welsh style, how they would have been in the past and a local bakery that actually sells fresh bread and cakes etc, again just like an old village style bakery. It’s a VERY big place and you will need all day to get around it. But… it’s a lot of walking so bare that in mind if you struggle with health/mobility issues. It is accessible, although some houses you can’t get into with a wheelchair unfortunately. Absolutely loved the scenic beauty. Great place to with kids. For convenient parking, Maes Y Gad (CF5 6EG) provides a suitable spot just a 5-minute walk from the entrance. The entrance itself is located at the Crofft-Y-Genau Road-Cardiff Road junction; simply press the button at the gate, and it will open automatically. Best of all, entry is completely free, making it an enjoyable and budget-friendly way to spend an hour exploring this remarkable attraction. Fantastic place to reconnect with Welsh heritage and culture ! If you are interested in and Welsh history, this is perfect :) Lovely place. The main attraction for us were the farm houses on the other side of the castle. The itself does not have a lot of open rooms, and mainly the garden is nice. And not like.. wales nice, just normal nice :-) First time at St. Fagans. Absolutely beautiful place! Was not a massive fan of all the walking as a disabled person but I got there in the end! The reason I've taken a star off is that the food in the cafe is quite expensive for what it is, family of 4 who had mostly chips was nearly £40! But all in all was real good! Absolutely fabulous grounds. Loads to see and so much to inspire the kids and keep them busy. You need to spend a good few hours here in order to actually walk around and see all the different buildings and look around the also. Very beautiful-worthwatching old place. Need whole day to properly explore the whole village and to understand the life style of that time..However when I visited some of the places were closed. Sunmer times are 10-5. So w reach at 10 and start packkng up at 4.30 at least. staff was cooperative. Renovation work is also ongoing in some places. Don't miss to the museum at the entrance.
