A charming little and the water flow depends on the season and whether it has rained a lot or not. It has great parking and there is loads more to explore within a five minute walk. A lovely location with a charm all of its own, cheers I've probably driven by this car and 100 times on my way to the large car at the end of the valley. Located just on the right past Ballinafunshogue Mine, which is basically a track for motorbikes! The car is not big, maybe 10 cars max. The is 30 seconds from the car park, however the Miners trail starts off to the right and zig zags up the valley wall. I would recommend doing this for the great views you get of Glenmalure Valley as u climb higher. The is like a mini Powerscourt, with lots of ledges you can walk up either side of it to snap pictures. Nice spot for a picnic. Beautiful waterfall. Found it after we had a long walk, so will be back to climb the Miners trail which starts here for about 1.5km. Was one of our highlights today. Children loved it!!! Great spot for wild camping, the forest opposite the is more sheltered and Please, Please take your rubbish home, It's not that difficult to do! Bag it up n take it with ye. Help keep it beautiful Great views at this for all fitness levels. You can view the from the base a short walk from the car or hike miner's trail to the top. What an amazing walk. We went to the very top of the mountain and back. It took us about 2.5 hours. Met other people on the top who came from the Glendalough car park. There was a deer or a goat or somehting on the trail also. It was raining at the time but still so amazing. I would definitely recommend it. Lovely little spot out of the way. Some idiots burn fires there, and burn there rubbish, because they're lazy people who won't take their rubbish home Stunning walks and scenery all around here. The views from the Miners Walk are breathtaking. There's a little car by the which makes it an ideal base for a day trip. It's also a popular location for wild camping which allows for longer hikes and explorations. Bring insect repellent if camping near the Avonbeg though!
