Wij zijn hier tijdens een wandeling langs het water geweest en het uitzicht is werkelijk schitterend. De vuurtoren ligt op een prachtige locatie aan het Haringvliet, waar je uitkijkt over het water en de haven. Vooral bij zonsondergang is het er magisch — het licht, de kleuren en de rust maken het een ideale plek om foto’s te maken of gewoon even te genieten van het moment. Het is ook een fijne plek om te combineren met een wandeling door de oude vesting of over de boulevard. De omgeving is goed onderhouden, schoon en sfeervol, met overal bankjes om even te zitten. Je voelt de historie van de plek — de vuurtoren is al eeuwenoud en nog steeds een symbool van Hellevoetsluis. Wat ik persoonlijk heel mooi vind, is dat het er rustig is, zelfs in de zomer. Je hoort alleen het geluid van de golven en de meeuwen. Een perfecte plek om je hoofd leeg te maken of even stil te staan bij het hier en nu.
