AMAZING VIEWS. We were introduced to this place as more "natural" than hallstatt. We drove here after visiting hallstatt which is but very commercialized. Place is serene, quiet and calming. Ice skating rink nearby! to see during sunset. Charming town. A lot of the is inaccessible as there are private houses along the water. We went there for the sunset and it was beautiful, just sitting at the end of the pier with good beer and listen to the sounds of the nature. Really worth it It's a environment, it's just a shame there are fewer and fewer places to go down to the Lake. What is not really understable is that the tops of the trees and bushes are mostly cut off (I guess the panorama of the owners of the houses built on the other side of the road should not be disturbed?!) This greatly impairs the experience of hikers and walkers, not tó mention the harmful effect on climate change! Is was a learning trip....how can you destroy a and landscape with "civilization" 😮‍💨 with awesome mountains surrounding it making the view really cool. You can walk around the entire or there is a boat making a round-trip. I recommend one way boat trip to the opposite side and then walk back. Outlook from the boat is very nice. There is hotel with nice restaurant just at the side with great view of the and mountains. A place where it is worth staying if there are no accommodation facilities in Hallstatt ;) A picturesque and peaceful place located between the monumental peaks of the mountains. There is where delicious food and a walk through the streets and walking / cycling routes will not be a waste of time. 22.12.2024 Despite the rain and snow, it's a place.
