Fantastic place to visit on a sunny and dry day. It is quite a bit of a up from the parking spot to the actual heritage park. But all made nicley with a gravel track. The ring fort is still very well visible in the landscape and it has a very interesting feeling stepping back in time thousands of years to be in this area. Entry is 5 EUR for adults and there is an honesty box placed. So make sure you bring some cash in the correct amount. Very rural location with well maintained paths to the sites. I liked this park. There's plenty to see if you are in the mood for a nice walk. Several interesting archaeological and historic areas all within the same area. Very interesting place if you are interested in Irish and Celtic history. Very steep site and not suitable for manual wheelchairs. The themselves are off the main track so you would need some mobility to access these. Worth a visit if you're feeling fit! Nice little park, well maintained, with interesting megalithic monuments. No shop to buy food or drinks but that's ok, just BYO. Worth a visit! Great place to visit several important timestamps over 5000 years of history in one place. Good place for picnic too. Toilet available. We really enjoyed this place. Not a very big place but it's got plenty of great things to see. The one I mostly enjoyed Was The stone circle. There's a little carpark in front of the gates where you can buy tickets. Remember to have cash on you as there's a honest box for the entrance. We stumbled upon this as we were heading to the Beara Peninsula. The signage seemed interesting enough for the 5 euro entrance fee, so we headed in. I still believe it is a place I could really enjoy had I been prepared. It's a very steep up to the various in the on a sort of gravel roadway. I just didn't have the right shoes, so after about 45 minutes, we headed back to the car. It was a lovely forest and seemed well cared for. I would return one day, I just wouldn't have soft soled shoes on. It is a nicely maintained site in beautiful scenery. The ringfort and stone circle is peaceful yet potent. Well worth a visit Nice place near Kenmare to see a stone circle, some standing stones, and a circle fort in close proximity. A bit of a from the parking lot, but pleasant surroundings. Excellent place for a short with great views whilst understanding the history around stone circles, the famine, etc The is well kept with beautiful scenery. The pathway to the historical is suitable for kids, while the historical are situated close to each other. It is a lovely morning or afternoon outing. Passed a sign for Bonane heritage as I was making my way to clonakilty and was curious. The sign in the parking lot had me sold and my dog and I took on the hike. It’s not a super far hike; but there’s a steep option and then there’s a not steep option, but also an option to do odions way- if you do that it’s a few switchbacks that are at a bit of an incline. Once you get to the site there’s a bunch of marked and easily findable things to look at. The signs are very informative and give you info about how life used to be. I learned a lot and would recommend anyone interested in cool old history to make the stop! We went at 7 pm and the sun was still up and the bugs weren’t bad.
