I don’t believe that small restaurant made amazing food I travel around the world but that restaurant now is number 1 for me ! Lots of restaurants to choose from on the rather busy road between Rijeka and Trieste. We chose Baša and weren't disappointed at all - food, staff, everything was great, we felt really welcome. The mentioned busy road few meters away is not really perfect surroundings, but what can you do? We stopped cause it was by the road anyway... We'll be back when hungry driving this road again. We were traveling home from the sea, being very hungry, we wanted a real hearty meal. We stopped in Baša and fell in love at first sight. Delicious home cooking from the hands of experienced cooks. The food is more than excellent. We will definitely stop by when we get the chance. I highly recommend it. The Calamari here are excellent! Service is top! The atmospere is relaxed. It was basically chopped vegetables with a little dressing and some meat, but the veggies were fresh and tasty, so that part was fine. My friend had the mushroom soup, which was excellent — rich, flavorful, and clearly homemade. That’s why I can’t quite understand why the beef broth was so poor in comparison. His second dish was goulash with gnocchi, also ok. The coffee was good. But honestly, I wouldn’t return.
