Nice restaurant on a way from Terste to Croatia in the middle of the mountain. They have summer garden with shadow (in the summer). We try grill meat (they grilled it close to the road) with french fries. It was tasty, but meat was a lot of fats, skins and bones parts - real meat was not so much. Service was kind, english and italien speaking. You can pay by card. We wait about 15min for food. We stopped off here on the off chance we could try their split roasted pig and omg it was absolutely amazing! Succulent, moist and fall off the bone. The skin was perfectly cooked and crispy. we ordered 700g for 4 people and it was perfect! Generous portions, polite staff, moderate prices. Great food and friendly staff, would recommend. I had the assorted grilled meat and "beans in oven" both were great and the beans were very unique for me. All other tables had with potatoes and bread, but we only got a plate of pork. When asked about a side dish, he was rude and brought us potatoes but no bread. The dish was average taste, with too much salt. Although the portion appeared big, we easily ate all of it, there was a lot of bones, skin and fat. For this experience including a small bottled water and a an orange "juice" made of sirup/squash we were charged 30 euros. EXCELLENT food (I took "ODOJEK"). If you are looking for an amazing, local cuisine, then this is IT. We stopped there by a chance, when we noticed it going by. This is what you want to experience when going on an international roadtrip - amazing local food, no burgers, nice atmosphere. The Odojek menu item itself does not include a sidedish, I ordered fries on top, and I did not regret it. The staff is very friendly and responsive, they speak ENG/IT/SLO. If I were a market for Slovenia, I would put this on the business card of the country. One of the, if not the, best meals I have ever had. Simple, incredibly tasty food and impeccable service.
