I’m always in the hunt for local delicacies and having nougat’s here in Crete is a must. This establishment has been here for a while and it has many positive reviews. The was very tasty and worth the visit. I ate it inside so they offered table service. The was friendly. They have the wonderful Iordanis and give you free water from tap but is drinkable and refreshing. A Big plus they have the announcement on the door and one knows from the entrance that if want take stay on the counter,if dine in you have to sit and be patient. With all the advertising they have from YouTubers the place is packed but somehow they manage beautifully all the crowd and even when mismatched the orders they cope with. Thank you. Efharisto poli. They have with local plain, with and you have cinnamon on the table if you want to put on top. As well they serve with cream filling which I don't have having in my mind idea of too sweet and don't feel like it. July 2024 Trip: Stopover in Chania, Crete. Stopped by @bougatsa.iordanis for and bougatsa, which is a type of filo pastry. The tasted a bit on the sour side, which was well balanced by the on top. The Greek was excellent! This was beyond our expectations, even better than i expected… amazing for breakfast, cafe was and it still keeps staying in my thoughts.. So I visited this place because a local friend of mine highly suggested it and actually marketed it as the best place to visit when you arrive at the port early in the morning. A modernized place that feels like it stood the trials of time, offering limited options of "Bougatsa" which in my opinion is absolutely fine. I love how this place has this cretan Giagia (Grandma) cooking feeling. By itself i believe that is a selling point. The ladies that welcomed us when we arrived are super as well. All in all, yes, this is a place you must visit when you reach the port. Nice with local feeling. Many locals and tourists meet at the same place to drink coffee, discuss and eat bougatsa. You can also order coffee, fresh orange juice and other refreshments. It’s very crowded though and you normally have to wait to be seated. Iordanis doesn’t taste like Thessaloniki’s and I would only the one with the and not the sweet/vegeterian bougatsa. The in the tastes similar to the galaktoboureko pastry. The is very fast and staff is helpful. It is kids friendly. Classic place in chania. I think it’s the oldest? Goat and cream flavours were both great warm gooey inside and crispy outside. Personally felt that the goat could get a bit overpowering Very hospitable - sat us down and helped us with the order. Do try the Greek and of course the bougatsa. It’s amazing on its own but you can also sprinkle and cinnamon for taste. Highly recommended! A real treat both for locals like us and tourists. A very and tasty snack to go with a Greek and a glass of water. Don't share, have a plate each! Tried the other one that's popular and this was clearly superior - the is the flakiest we had in Crete. I preferred the sweet / vegan one. is really and speedy. Place is clean too. We went twice! Authentic bougatsa. I you try the classic one without sprinkled on it, they also have a sweet option filled with cream. The atmosphere is chaotic, as the old ladies are kinda upset, but you should take it as a part of the experience, haha. For the romanian clients: this will be similar to the "merdenea" from 15 years ago, the taste is similar. The specialty is with 2 and on top, you should try that one. I tried with vegan creamnas well was good. The 4 stars is only because I went on sunday morning the place was packed and babies was crying. Wonderful pie. The experience is a bit chaotic, because there can be a big line to sit and take away. But it is worth it. The pie is very very good, especially the one. Also the greek is good. A small family-run business, offering bougatsa. You can choose between plain or with options. It was very and fresh. Plus, since it’s made with goat cheese, those with lactose intolerance can enjoy it without any issues. The history behind it is also very impressive. I definitely it! It’s not just the tradition, here we talk about pure perfection 😁 Never had a with and sugar, but I must say it was delicious! The atmosphere, the staff with their smile and jokes made the experience even sweeter and memorable. One of the must visit and taste places in Chania! Warm and delicious, this simple yet flavorful was such a delight. We had the savory option, but they also serve one with and/or cinnamon. Very affordable, quick and authentic atmosphere. When a place has made one thing for 100 years and is around to tell about it, they must be doing something right. In this case, they have perfected the crispy, creamy, delicate Cretan bougatsa. Having it served fresh out of the oven is a treat, and worth the stop! Showed up at 3 pm one day and the lovely Tina told us to return the following day before 2 pm. So glad we did! We tried both the and cream filled bougatsa. Both were outstanding l, but I preferred the cheese! Tina remembered us and greeted us with such a warm smile! was quick and great. It’s a must to come here. So please do! Exactly what you’re looking for if you want – simple, authentic, and delicious. They even offered a vegan option, which is a big plus. The staff were very and welcoming, making the experience even better. Definitely a place I’d for anyone craving in Chania. The food was awesome Very pies. Especially fell in love with Bougatsa. Nice service, there are places to sit. Πολύ ακριβό για αυτό που προσφέρει. We went here for breakfast and wow… just wow. 🤩 They serve Bougatsa, and we tried the one with soft goat cheese, absolutely amazing! We ordered three versions: one without sugar, one with sugar, and one with plus cinnamon (they had it on the table), and every single one was incredible. The came out hot and crunchy, and the flavor was out of this world. What really surprised us is that one of my friends doesn’t usually like sweet and savory together, but this completely changed her mind. 🙌 A must-try, even if you think it’s not your thing. On top of that, the staff was super and welcoming. Highly starting your morning here, you won’t regret it! 🥐✨ They served only one type of food and that was the bougatsa. I enjoyed but you have to get in early. We got the last portion of the day and it was only 2.30pm. Definitely worth trying as the portion was great value for money. This is a must go in Chania. Absolutely and affordable. My boyfriend and I ate at this place today. I was extremely satisfied because the food is very tasty and the staff was very nice to us. We paid 10.30 euros for two portions and one coffee. I recommend! 我來 Chania品嚐了2家Bougatsa ,我覺得這一間的cheese放的比較多🧀,味道有更升級一點的感覺,桌上一樣有肉桂粉可以添加,進去後跟店員說內用後,就自己找座位,店員會給你menu 確認要哪一種味道👅 Maybe I just came in a really bad moment, but total vibe was really very strange. Men and woman, which are doing this pies was arguing. Waiter was realllyyyyyy slow. A had really anxious feeling and left this place immediately after finishing my pie. About food: pie is amazing, really crunchy and delicious! I am extremely picky with food. To the point where I get mad when the food is not right. This place makes food from the heart and you can both feel and taste it with each bite. The staff here loves their craft and customers which reflects the quality of the food. One may say that it is only puff and cheese, but the elegance in its simplicity makes this for me the best breakfast I have had in a very long time, if ever. I highly it! And thank you for making such amazing food!
