I have been a member here for almost 40 years. LSAC is an icon here in the neighborhood, having been at the same location for more than 50 years. Racquetball courts, and indoor and outdoor pool , outdoor tennis courts, 2 gyms a workout room, weight and treadmill are just some the features of this neighborhood club LSAC has a comfortable , feel to the club. Definitely a different vibe than an LA fitness or Planet Fitness facilities. Knowledgeable , friendly and helpful have always been a hallmark of this club. Recent have shown the age of the club. The workout machines are a bit dated. There always seems to be a roof leak or two happening during the winter rainy season. A coat of paint and a general refresh are definitely called for in a big way. All said, LSAC is a convenient staffed by friendly helpful staff. Lots of fun for the whole family. The outdoor courts have just been beautifully resurfaced to accommodate ten pickleball and three tennis courts. LSAC also has pool, gyms, racquetball, squash, conditioning and fitness classes. And additionally, separate adult and child rooms. Membership or guest of a member required. Recently started coming here. Great facility. Tons of activities and classes. Amazing if you have little kids because they offer child care. The facility may be a little dated, however the value that they offer to their community is immense. Great pool for swimming lessons. They need to fix the showers in the Woman’s room. Only 2 work well. One you have to push the button for the water to come on every 4-5 seconds. Another just shoots out a small stream of water it doesn’t “shower” at all. Our membership at Lakeshore Athletic spans a few years, and despite the facilities exuding a charming, somewhat dated ambiance, there's an undeniable allure that consistently draws our back. The consistently exceeds expectations, going above and beyond to create a welcoming atmosphere that turns every visit into a positive experience. Into delve into my engagement with the facilities. The two basketball gyms have become a standout feature for me. When it comes to equipment, Lakeshore Athletic certainly doesn't fall short. The variety of Hammer Strength, Body Master, and Graviton machines caters to a spectrum of workout preferences. Additionally, the gym showcases an impressive array of dumbbells, ranging from 5 to 100 lbs. While the facility may not boast the latest in cutting-edge technology, it compensates with essential equipment like 1 Squat Rack, 1 Olympic Rack, and a Smith Machine. Lake Shore had excellent customer service when I visited today and signed up for membership. Two separate friendly members took care of me. I especially appreciated the clarity with which they explained the details of the membership. They also volunteered information about potential discounts. The whole experience was informative, easy and quick. My daughter and I used the pool the same day. A lifeguard was on duty the whole time. Other members swimming were courteous. Looking forward to visiting often and enjoying this center. Thank you, Lake Shore. 5 start for all classes including Barre and Pilates instructors are amazing but 0 star for cleanliness of women jacuzzi and sauna floors , class floors. Jacuzzi floors and walls are molded, soo disgusting .I reported multiple time to the front desk but they seems not care much. Updates: it’s been over week and nothing changed, Jacuzzi still looks the same disgusting green molded. I guess they really don’t care. Been going to this facility for 15 years. I started when I was a teenager. I now have a toddler of my own & they expect us to use the “girls” because I have my child with me. The provides a communal pack n play that has seen better days & this has truly not changed one bit in the last 15 years. It’s unfortunate that we as mothers or fathers are expected to use a pos & get snarky or rude comments when wanting to use the women’s room. Which I may add, has all the bells & whistles. What happened to the standard care for mothers & children? I have no where to breastfeed my other child in private. For being a establishment, you’d think they’d invest in a real room. Not a middle school room. Just food for thought. All the other things are decent. I keep going to the facility because it’s close & kind of take the good with what I can but it’s not the best. We are long time members and love this club. I’m came here today to recognize Diana the swim instructor. We have a special needs grandson who has been getting lessons from her. He is thriving under her instruction. We are thrilled at his swimming progress. She is amazing. He has learned things that could safely his life and I am grateful to her. She is fantastic and Lakeshore people we are blessed to have her there. I honestly am so impressed with his progress. Thank you Diana!! Unwelcoming, apathetic, and rude front desk who mock disabled people! I went in today to see about getting a membership for my member who is a disabled senior citizen with Down Syndrome and I was appalled by how rude and apathetic the people working there are. They actually made derpy faces and rolled their eyes at us when we asked questions about how their memberships work and are billed. Because of this, I would neve give then a penny of our money. For a group of people whose job it is to sell memberships and greet members, I can't believe how hard they go out of their way to be unwelcoming and unhelpful. We had to ask for a tour of the facilities. They refused to talk directly to Warrren even thought he understands English and had questions. They had no interest in talking directly with him or showing him around or telling him about the activities they offer. I told the young man giving the tour 3 times that he was hard of hearing yet he refused to speak up or engage with him directly. The amount of apathy is truly astounding. But, the alarming part is that they blatantly made fun of 2 people with disabilities to our faces. This is discriminatory and I called the red /burgundy haired woman out on this behavior and told her it was not appreciated at all and that we would be taking our business elsewhere because of her behavior specifically. I hope they have cameras so their manager can review this interaction and see the faces she made at us as we were talking, I flipped her the bird as we were leaving because I was furious but she should be fired for making fun of disabled folks. Lakeshore has truly been my happy place as a busy mom of 3! The ladies who love on my kiddos in the childcare area are wonderful. Front desk are welcoming and kind. Love the variety of exercise equipment and classes. Highly recommend this gym! Excellent staff. Offers a variety of user friendly exercise equipment. Trainers are excellent. The has lots of open space. Well organized, with high quality hygiene throughout. Great swimming facilities, fantastic hot tub. This athletic is amazing, amazing staff, and good area. I do hope in the future they remodel it, the building and rooms are older, and it would be nice if it was updated especially since memberships here are not cheap. Overall the machines and equipment are great and easily accessible. I noticed a review saying that she had to pay by check. Credit/debit cards have been accepted since the beginning 2025! Very helpful to not have to pay by check.
