Stopped here by chance on our way north to Seatac airport. We needed a break from driving, to stretch our legs and have some lunch. What a wonderful little spot set on the Columbia River. Lovely gardens, clean restrooms and nice views across to Oregon. There’s a McMenamins too should you need something more substantial to eat. Be sure to check out the little museum in the administrative building if you stop during office hours. This park is so lovely! My kids love it. Summertime is great for a beach day with the water, volleyball net, playground, pickleball and tennis courts, restaurants and coffee shops nearby. If you've never been here it will not disappoint! Took a salmon fishing trip at the marina here and it was so beautiful. We also hooked up 20 fish that day on the Columbia! Definitely a place we will return to. Great outdoor and indoor venues. Lovely place for a jog, or a walk along the Columbia river. Huge playground for children to play in. Restaurants and dining. Usually pretty windy along the river so recommend a wind jacket in the colder months. This is an incredibly beautiful spot. There is a little flat trail right by the water perfect for any age group. There is a little mall which has multiple stores from flowers, coffee, food pastry etc. The Port of Kalama Marine Park is a beautiful spot with great views, and it’s one of the few places around that’s pet-friendly, which is a big plus. The park is generally well-maintained, and most visitors respect the natural environment, creating a calm and clean space to enjoy the outdoors. However, it's really the only good location in Kalama where kids of all ages can get outside and be active, and it’s frustrating that outdoor activities like roller skating, and bike riding, are prohibited. Just like being in the water is at your own risk, these activities should be treated the same way, allowing families—including their pets—to enjoy the park to its fullest. It’s a real missed opportunity to make this space more inclusive and engaging for everyone, especially younger visitors. While it's a nice place to relax, the restrictions on active outdoor fun for families are disappointing. Sure the playground equipment is good for the elementary crowd, but beyond that, your option is walking, jogging, running. As Kalama grows, I look forward to more opportunity for the community to engage in active hobbies in meaningful ways. Just did a celebration of life for my family. What an amazing place. Was my first time there. Can't wait to go back.
