The parallel between Rio de Klín and Rio de Janeiro is not just a coincidence, because this little Slovak village of Klín also has a big of Jesus with open arms on top of a hill. As an atheist, I could appreciate the humour of this idea and decided to check it out because I was curious if they are serious or just joking. However, the single-handedly financed by a local citizen Josef Sroka is quite impressive and does serve as a place of worship. The entire area is built like a small park and has got a series of terraced gardens, a shrine and pretty good scenic of the valley with Orava water reservoir (and sometimes during good visibility even high Tatras in the distance). You can also buy some snacks or drinks in the small stall on the top and relax on some of the available benches. The place can get quite a lot of visitors, but there are multiple parking spots below. The first ones are mostly for cars, but if you have a road bicycle or a motorbike, you can continue to the upper parking lot just below the stairs. When I visited, there were some people coming all the way to the park through the grass on the side, on quad bikes and off-road motorbikes. There is no required entry fee, but they do ask you for a contribution to a piggy-bank at the entrance. Overall quite a cool place to visit for an hour if you happen to travel around. And probably even better if you're religious. Amazing The itself is less large and impressive than I expected. Once on site, there are several other quite traditional Catholic objects, including a gallery full of many paintings and a of Mary in front of which many angels have been placed. All in all, I think this is a pretty special place. Great views from this place a very nice walk from the parking below. I haven’t been to Brazil but no need now. I’ve already seen this in Slovakia! The walk up there was hard, mainly because the incline was steep and the sun was shining down so hard. Finally when we reached the top, we were rewarded with a beautiful view. The plants and flowers there seem very well kept and look quite nice. Overall, really nice and worth the long walk up! Nice place at the top of the hill. Amazing of the lake and surroundings. Beautiful and place. There is "mandatory" fee to enter the place as it is private property not owned by church. You can skip this collection box and continue, but I thing that it is a good thing to help keep this place in shape. This place is calm (outside of main tourist season) and spiritual, we recommend it mostly for religious people. For non-religious there are beautiful views (mostly on the west High Tatras). There is also free parking under the hill and from there it took around 20 minutes to get to the statue. Very nice view. Quiet place. Can drive to the top but the road is very steep. The of Christ stands majestically, perfectly blending with the surrounding landscape – as if watching over the entire valley below. The views are breathtaking – you can see the Orava Reservoir, the surrounding hills, and on a clear day, even the Western Tatras (Roháče). I was there with my 91-year-old father, and we managed the walk without any problems. The path is gentle and suitable for seniors as well as families with children. The area is well-maintained and peaceful – with benches, a small chapel, a Way of the Cross, and a of St. John Paul II. The spiritual and tranquil atmosphere makes it a truly special experience.
