This is a gem of a place to stop for a cuppa while out walking the greenway. We did just that and stopped for a hot chocolate to warm us up as it was freezing and windy on Saturday afternoon. We chose to sit outside but it took 15 minutes to order and collect 1 hot chocolate and 1 bottle of Coke so that was a bit ironic as we ended up frozen waiting. Apart from service issues it seems a lovely place and they did have some gluten free items so thumbs up for that. Great place next to the Grand Canal. We often drive there from Tullamore and go for a walk along the canal. Lovely cakes, hot chocolate, coffee, etc. It can get busy on nice days but it's worth the wait. Very staff. Ample free parking and plenty of places to sit outdoors or close to the canal. stopped for and breakfast after a nice run along the banks of the adjacent entrance canal. the bake house is located in an idyllic setting, close to the banks of the canal. We ordered some and some granola pots for breakfast. The food was tasty and filling service was excellent and the was also very good. This is a perfect spot for a stop off for some cake or breakfast. Ballycommon Bakehouse is an absolute gem! From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed by a warm, atmosphere and a beautiful setting. The café itself is cosy and inviting, and the outdoor area is simply perfect for sunny days, peaceful, spacious, and the ideal spot to sit back and relax. One of the things I love most is how dog-friendly it is. After a lovely walk along the nearby canal, it’s wonderful to be able to stop in with your four-legged friend and enjoy a or a delicious meal without any hassle. The food is consistently fantastic, fresh, flavourful, and clearly made with care. Whether you’re popping in for a quick treat or settling in for a relaxed lunch, Ballycommon Bakehouse never disappoints. The are genuinely lovely too — always welcoming, attentive, and helpful, which adds to the whole experience. I would absolutely recommend Ballycommon Bakehouse to anyone looking for a great café/restaurant with a relaxed, vibe. It’s a little treasure and well worth a visit! Lovely fresh coffee, excellent and fresh cakes and snacks. The place was spotless and even though it's May the cosy fire was welcome. Tried a smoked ham, brie, onion relish and stuffing toasted sandwich today and it was really good We popped in to the Bakehouse for Brunch after Air bnb'ing in Daingean, and we are so glad we did! The Pancakes and didn't disappoint and the location is beautiful right on the canal. But we are giving 5 stars for the wonderful and the fantastic playlist :) We hope to be back again!! Absolutely delicious. The was excellent. The food was gorgeous. I would recommend the cinnamon bun as my favourite. The are really and nice. The added bonus of the greeley walk beside is lovely too.
