Great trip. Went up for photos and walking around. Very well organised. You by tickets at the entrance . Views are incredible during good weather. You can climb a bit uphill for even better experience. The only downside is that the lift is seriously overpriced. 1500 NOK for a round trip for a family is less than acceptable. A great way to get to the mountain top above Åndalsnes. Go early to avoid the tour buses, but the cars were pretty frequent. Trip Advisor suggests getting tickets in advance , which we did and never received them! Luckily the attendant at the cable car managed to find them in the system. So, don't bother buying them in advance, just get them there. Amazing amazing amazing. Well worth going, cars every 30 mins. Wheelchair friendly, toilets available, large coffee/restaurant looking over the town. £65 for two people. Very windy but well worth going. Look at my posting for the town as this will explain more about this We wanted to explore during the day and also booked for dinner in Eggen so needed to head back in the evening. Bought the day tickets so used 4 times in total, not cheap but gives great views and it's less painful than walking to the summit with my old legs. There was only 1 side running for maintenance so there was a queue returning in the afternoon but got straight in t at other times. Plenty of washing to do at the summit, views from each side are completely different and your can easily get away from busier parts Don’t miss this if you’re near by. Do not be afraid of clouds, makes for great photos. Check the prices for the gondola before going, because it will make the Swiss blush. Amazing landscape of fjord~ we are very happy that we did not miss it! We took cable up to the view point, it spectacular scenery. On the top there is a restaurant with nice view seatings or you can just seat outside with a cup of coffee to enjoy the beauty of the Mother Nature! Was man aber unbedingt bedenken muss. Outrageously expensive. If you are in shape, walk up. If not, enjoy the views from everywhere else. It is beautiful every way you look anyway. Absolutely stunning views, thanks the cabelcar everyone can see out from the top of the mountain, right now it costs 560 NOK per person, but is worth it Die Fahrt nach oben lohnt sich aufjedenfall ! This is where I found my happy place. Expensive but worth every penny/krone. We set off early, only 8 people onboard going up. Incredible views, made me quite emotional. Quiet, clean air, able to roam freely without crowds. Returned to reality, just 4 of us on the gondola, so we had front seats on the way down. Would have liked to have walked down but had a cruise ship trip booked pm and wasn't sure if we could make it down in time. I highly recommend this experience. Ganz tolle Aussichten, leider häufig Wolken, die die Aussicht behindern. A Short walk from cruise ship. Fantastic view's from the top. With a cafe and toilet facilities at the top. Can't comment on the food as cafe was too busy, there was mixed reviews from fellow cruise friend's who ate there....from good to okay...and it is over priced...but is expected in Norway...This was my first stop in Norway Convenient but too expensive, compared to the five-minute ride. We scanned the QR code over the entrance and bought tickets online, which we have never received. The staff then told us ticket machines are more recommended (then why put the QR code there causing confusion??!). The staff was nice anyway and noted my number. Luckily I got the refund several weeks later...
