I had 3 days with Starfish. First day check-in with Albert as my guide in the local house reef. Saw my first big sea horses ever, a yellow and 2 black ones which of 1 where pregnant. Second day we went to Corolianus wreck and made 2 all organized very well by Albert. Third and last day of I went with a german couple to Koversada beach reef by minibus a short trip from the shed. The visibility was bad and the so so until we saw a John Dory(or similar, very thin) fish and a cuddlefish at the safety stop. All in all I'm glad I made my first after 3 years with Starfish and can greatly recommend the awesome and humble Albert! Thank you for great diving! 😊 I had a wonderful week at Starfish. The bay in front of the divingschool is a great opportunity to upgrade (or refresh) your diveskills. Services of Starfish are great. Prices for hiring your equipment and are reasonable. In one week we made resp. 4 days in the bay as well 2 days with a boat. Great experience. Maybe not the most nice place to see extreme exceptional seelife, but never the less nice due to a clear view. I would also recommend a night-dive 😉. At first I was doubting to go for my open water diver certificate, but after the try scuba experience I was sure! Really professional friendly instructors, special thanks to Miro and Martin. Both takes the time to learn the skills and get you confident and familiar with your actions and underwater. During the course we saw a lot of sealife, including: Starfish, Octopus, Scorpionfish, Seahorse. They have a great variety of sites for novice and experienced divers. Wreck diving, from shore, cave dives, night dives. You can easily sign up for any through an automated system in whatsapp. Every day multiple activities take place, so always something to do. If I go back I will definitely do another course/dive with them! Did both my open water and now advanced licences there. I can wholeheartedly recommend this centre and all the staff. This year I was with Albert who is an incredibly positive and chill guy, yet he is very professional and taught me a lot. My boyfriend and I did two with Starfish Center and were blown away by the quality of service. We first dived with Christoph from the shore. He put a lot of effort into helping us become better divers and ensuring we had a pleasant experience. It was just one dive, but he really helped us improve our buoyancy control. We also did a boat with Roman. He was a great guide and his predive briefing was fantastic. This is exactly the kind of center and people I hope to find whenever we go diving, especially as we are fairly inexperienced and don't often. Very professional, patient, kind and fun team. I definitely hope to come back and explore more sites with them. Great and professional center. German and english speaking crew, own boat, top quality equipment, friendly atmosphere and good prices. Strongly reccomending. A well-equipped base, with friendly and helpful SSI instructors, such as Julia Schnelte, Alexander Feuchtenhoffer, Martin Kuschel and Alexander. The home bay is easy for beginners and night or snorkel dives. Boat are provided from the nearby harbour on a 5-minute walk along the sea. The captain of the boat Toni is helpful and funny and took the time to spot dolphins on the way back from a site. the underwater world at Vrsar is more alive than at Pula. You can only leave out the site "Roman Bay", this is a place where many boats anchor and the bottom is littered with rubbish and life is dead (if you do go here, towards site Salina at 15 meters and after 20 minutes, you will find beautiful rock formations with caves and life) The base also offers expedition facilities (also to other associations). They can then take care by themselves, for specialities like wreck diving, deep diving, deco or nitrox. Another possibility is to organize the courses via the base under the SSI flag. All in all definitely a positive experience and reason enough to come back for a wreck expedition. I would recommend a 5-star ranking if you would skip site Romain Bay (it's not worth diving).
