Beautiful little Zoo with a and a pub to after Lovely little zoo and cheap to visit. cafe as well. What a fantastic day out. Super cheap to get in, plenty of parking around the road side, plenty of toilets, large walking spaces and animals. It was fantastic to see the were all well kept and in large enclosures, with various to look at. We spent a 2 hours here enjoying the and found it to be quiet without the usual hustle or business of a usual zoo. There was a for children and a cafe on site too! Would recommend! little zoo with and pub that serves food & drink.. was really value for money.. no big mainly birds & Unexpected on a whim proved to be the best decision of the year. Thrilled with the we saw and their environment. Also visited the cafe which served delicious hit chocolate. Looking forward to visiting again! value for money. Very so you are done in 1-2 hours max. The park was looking a bit sorry for itself compared to last time we visited but it is winter after all. Food was but there was only one lady trying to take everyone's order, make drinks and clean tables as well so ended up queuing for about 10 minutes to place our order. Went to The Fen Bell on a sunny Sunday. The pub itself is quite small, and parking is limited, but there is an overflow car park just down the road. We decided to the zoo but really it's a conservation project for animals. The menu in the zoo is the same as in the pub, and what a treat it was. This is ideal for young families and has a area. There are indoor and outdoor seating facilities if the weather is bad. Overall, I enjoyed a couple of hours there. Food was quality and reasonable priced. 👍 That zoo was truly wonderful! The appeared healthy and content in their lovely, natural outdoor habitat. We especially adored the flamingos; they were magnificent. We were also delighted to see a white fox that we had never encountered before! Refreshments and souvenirs are available upon exiting. On holiday near by so thought we would pay The Fenn Bell a visit. Prices are reasonable. It's not an all day attraction. We only spent 1 hour there and it was all seen. Despite doing the Easter hunt wordsearch it still only took 1 hour to go round. Easy to see the when they are out. It's clean and tidy all round the park. There is a little for the children. A little shop at the end before going out the exit. Not much related to the actual which you get to see in the park. For anyone who is sensitive to noise be aware that the parrots section🦜 can be very loud. The are all lovely to see and have enclosures. It could just do with a little bit more to make it more of a longer day out. I have been coming for years here literally from when he first started building the zoo. The zoo has transformed amazingly over the years. All the different and that are here now makes it a really day out. The owner is such a chap and he always has the time to talk to you about his new projects, new animals. He is so passionate about what he does it’s really to see. There is everything you could want from a zoo here from flamingos to bobcats, otters, monkeys, parrots and owls. There is a little for the children and a bar serving hot and cold food and drinks. I really urge everyone to the fenn bell and support the conservation project going on here. It’s a really day out for the children and only £6 entry if you book online. place with kids little place, selection of which are looking healthy and a set up walking through, could see works going on so hopefully more to come, little playground with seating for picnic or there is food on site, looked and a looking pub just outside, price for tickets not to bad would have been better if under 3s was free, but free parking, day out kids enjoyed them self's. We all loved it, definitely worth visiting, will be even better when they get the last few all sorted out for new Very reasonably priced. Not huge, but a variety of animals. You can buy food and drink there which is a little expensive. There is a gift shop and a too. to meet up with others who have young children.. Second to the zoo (went back in 2022 when the zoo was packed full of families). Did think that this time round there was less there but they were doing a lot of construction work so maybe more coming back or new ones coming soon. All in all still a little zoo and I will be back again soon to see hopefully more in the they are being build / renovated. A big fan of this place, and I can't recommend it enough! The zoo you can tell is still expanding, but there's still so much to see and for a very cheap price too! A wide variety of animals, all in that are well looked after. The food is also really nice, and at a reasonable price too. Can't wait to see how this place grows, a big fan of their work and project! If you get the chance you really should come and visit. Stayed in the nearby Haven. We came and spent an hour walking around. We could have made it a much longer experience as there was a fantastic playground and a really cafe. There are no limitations as to how many times you walk around, and the gift shop had a fantastic range of items. They even had little bits for a pound. The staff were really friendly and approachable. What a lovely little hidden place to visit. Very reasonably priced. Well worth every penny from entry, food and down to the gift shop! variety of animals- had really & clean and seemed very happy & were very interactive. to see them through a glass window rather than a cage. Staff were lovely & premises even the toilets were very clean. for the kids. food. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a less busy day out. We got here about 12:30 and spent about 3/4 hours here on a Sunday during half term. We brought our 7yr old grandchild for a Meerkat Experience birthday treat, and found a special event on too for half term. Never having been here before we are impressed. The whole day was brilliant for us all from start to finish, looking at the and birds. Every staff member was friendly, helpful and engaged with us..... in particular. Finding clues to solve the problem of missing Chester Fox, and the train ride absorbed our grandchild and we had fun because she was! Captured some videos of her excitement to show her parents. Her Meerkat Experience will be something she'll never forget. The Keeper was teaching and supervised well. She absolutely loved it. Lunch in the café was good, too , and the shop was reasonably priced. (Toilets clean, well equipped for baby change and disabled. ) To complete the day she played in the recreation whilst we had a cuppa before the trek home. Thanks so much, everyone, for an unforgettable day for all the right reasons. And even the sun shone all day. 🌞 Well done 👏 Had a lovely family day out, costs were worth the experience and cause. Food variety, quantity and enjoyment were worth the value. The animal well kept and natural, all the look well looked after. Would recommend to everyone. Our 4 year old niece loved it and the paly too are well cared for. day out for the little ones. Affordable, enough to enjoy without them getting too tired, large enough to be exciting. facilities were also a hit! Food and drinks are reasonably priced and portions generous. Plenty of free parking supplied. Well worth this visit. Will come again and support them. Thank you! My daughter had her birthday party this afternoon, and had the lemur feeding experience afterwards. She had an amazing afternoon, the staff are so friendly and accommodating! The food was great, the were happily playing despite the cold weather and both adults and children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The Fenn Bell Conservation Project deserves so much more recognition for their hard work! AMAZING, absolutely beautiful place to place, the are awesome! It's clear to see they're really looked after and the staff are really knowledgeable Sitting with a pint of moretti, watching my kids in the park after looking around a large 'small zoo'. It's not Colchester in size but it's alot bigger than some of these reviews make it sound. You could definitely make a day of this. We've been here 2 hours now, kids will for another 20 minutes then we will go next door for a (and fairly cheap) pub lunch. Couldn't have had a better time so far and the weather's miserable. Don't come here expecting tigers and lions (yet, I reckon they'll come around some point). Can see us coming back a fair bit in the future. The little safari truck was brilliant, kids loved the whole day, thanks. little zoo!! Also ate here and the food was Unreal Calamari 10/10 🌟 staff lovely and friendly experience at the zoo! The food was fantastic, home made scotch egg and pork pies are just amazing 10/10 other half had a burger and was amazing highly recommended! Staff are friendly and attentive, we had a lovely time! Found out about the Christmas experience they do and I will be back to bring my son! Thank you! Lovely to see all the looking happy food in the cafe at prices 😋 We came to the zoo as 3 adults and 1 under two. The zoo car park was clearly labelled and we were able to walk straight in. Yes it’s a pound more expensive to buy on the door rather than online but the money goes back into the zoo so who cares? We had so much fun! The were easy to see into and so clean. The areas were labelled and you could see the effort being put into developing the site! Thank you and we’ll definitely be back!
