Beautiful restored castle on gorgeous grounds. The view is lovely and the town nearby quaint. At the time we visited the hotel had moved guests for technical reasons. It was still worthwhile to walk the ground and enjoy the serene setting. Castle visit with a tea party at grad Strmol was an extremely pleasant experience. It started with sparklin wine at the top floor salon, continued with coffee and cake in the middle and ended in the garden. The guide was very welcoming, professional and knowledgeable. The castle is very nicely kept and it offers a rare opportunity to experience it, not just to look at the furniture and the rooms. A very well thought out and executed program. The landscape architecture is well taken care of, you've got short trails for walks, a small pond (we saw a lot of tadpoles next to lotus leaves) and a café. Here, they offer delicious cakes, there's a playground for children, a parking space and a place to park your bicycle. All in all really worth visiting! Also not haunted as I’ve stayed here a few nights on my own. The breakfast is incredible as pictures have shown. And the staff is very helpful. I would definitely come back.
