Orte is a really beautiful little town with a ton of history. Definitely worth a stop, even if it’s just a quick one on your way to or from the airport—especially if you’re driving between Rome and Tuscany. We really enjoyed walking around and taking it all in. That said, some of the steep steps can be a bit of a workout, so be ready for a bit of climbing! The central town square is especially cool—it has seven streets branching off it, which is part of the town’s original design. You really get a sense of the history walking around there. All in all, a great stop if you’re in the area. Part of the was not available due to flooding, so only four stars. The price was reduced accordingly. The guide was excellent and we enjoyed our visit. We were the only couple on our half-hour tour. Advisable to let them know when you want to visit. The was really nice and Alessandro is a very gentle guide. I never knew about this place. I came across it by chance and the experience was unbelievable. One to go to if you are ever in Rome.
